Anyone got this scope

 yet? Hows it perform?

Looking for best scope under $700 3×12 or 4×15

I got a Hawke Airmax 30 SF Compact in the mail (UPS) today.

Just in the hand, I'm liking it. Gonna go on the Daystate Pulsar that should be here tomorrow (Saturday).

I like the retical, good in darker environments, like indoor shooting. The crosshair is thin, but still easily visible. The crosshair only, can be lit up (red) for darker environment shooting. It's shorter than most, it's LIGHTER than the other two scopes that I recently purchased.

Mike

P.s. - It's a 3 x 12. I need a 3 power (or less) for the minimum side for my short shooting distance. Any higher power is just too close.

$399.99

Okay, that Extreme Tactical deal on the Alpha 6 is too good to pass up. Just bought another one! Free shipping, NO tax. That's a deal.

Thanks, O'Doyle. I hope some others will see this and grab that scope, its really nice. Every time I pick up the gun with that scope on it I am a little startled at just how crisp and clear it is all the way out to 27X. I shoot many different scopes for different situations (Midas Tac, Frontier, Riton, Blackhound, Bushnell, Barra, etc.) but always enjoy this one. For the money, you just can't lose.

Hard to find sub $1200 scopes that's as nice as the $200 A6 that's 4sure and I pretty much tried them all and had returned most of them for refund since they weren't as clear nor comparable very friendly eyebox not even close its laughable.

You musta really been tripping when you did a side by side with the $699 SWFA SS 3-15x42. Figured everyone has one.

They shouldn't buy the A6 because they will probably feel ripped off comparing it to other brands that they paid 4x to 5x as much.

I compared the HAWKE FRONTIER 2.5X15X50 to the 2.5-15x50 A6 and the A6 is brighter and clearer and most notable is the eyebox friendliness and superior illumination that is daytime visible at. roughly 1/4 the cost. I prefer the 4.5-27x50 A6 a lot more since I like to see things past 100 yards and with these scopes having 10 yard minimum parallax, 4.5x is low enough for me.

SINCE they aren't bound by MAP PRICING unlike most popular accepted brands of typical overpriced scopes selling nowadays...

$359.95 regular price. $199.95 with free shipping.

Or if buying 4 at a time...

Try not to compare them to the more expensive scopes you happily paid 3x - 5x more $$$ for then you won't feel ripped off.

The newest expensive SW30 6-24x56 looks about up and up in glass Brightness and Clarity as the A6 at 24x and Frontier believe it or not. It's pretty damn good so it's up to you it's your money and it's really expensive based on country of manufacture. IMHO. There's a somewhat noticeable difference from this NEW model and the previous model. The A6 has an edge in eyebox friendliness over all of them including the Frontiers.

There's no real deal on this new Hawke unless you buy from SWFA when they have 10% off or Optics Planet with 5% off code or if anyone has a discounted open box return like Cameraland for example.

I may suggest saving around half price and get the 2019-early 2020 Hawke FFP 6-24x56 SW30 if you search deals who still got this one in stock if you are a die hard Hawke fan because THIS ONE is real close to the new one in glass and even gives the Frontier a good run. It also has night and day better illumination compared to pre 2018 SW30s.

What I do like about the NEW HAWKE SW30s and Frontiers are their clean glass whiteness that no longer appear to have the slight yellow tint in their glass typical of Chinese glass. The 2019-2020 SW30 6-24x56 is also clean white glass.

They are nicer than the Athlon Midas TAC and ARES and Bushnel Forge because of this.

You should already know about the typical yellow Chinese glass I speak of. Your Bushnell Forge has it. More Pronounced in fact.

The new Hawke you inquired about has hands down nicer glass than your $950 Bushnell Forge.

It's just like what I refer to like the A6 has LEUPOLD-LIKE WHITE GLASS.

Now everybody gets to notice their yellow tint after reading this.

Old Hawkes are very yellow. Well except the 4.5-14x42 and 6.5-20x42.

Just to make something perfectly clear so you can probably relate. The A6 is nicer than your Bushnell Forge when both are cranked up to max 27x there's no comparison.

The A6 is nicer than your Mueller 8-32x44 and the Sightron SIII is darker and appears to have a narrower FOV and sight picture when side by side with the A6 both set at 27x.

The A6 edges out the Hawke because you not even maxed out the 27x comparing to the 24x Hawke.

I think most A6 users max theirs to shoot at 27x and leave it there because they can unlike other more expensive scopes that loses it before maxing out the power.
