Hawke airmax or vantage WA FF...

rwsmike,

are you talking about the 30 FFP versions of the Airmax and the Vantage?

Airmax 30 FFP 4-16x50 https://us.hawkeoptics.com/airmax-30-ffp-sf-4-16x50-amx-ir.html

Vantage 30 WA FFP 4-16x50 https://us.hawkeoptics.com/vantage-30-wa-ffp-4-16x50-half-mil-dot-ir.html

The Airmax has capped turrets!! And the reticle has some (to me) odd spacing. And it has 16moa less of elevation adjustment (70 vs. 86).

Both do not have thick outside posts in the reticle, so I would assume that on low magnification the crosshairs are a little harder to aim at your quarry on a rushed shot with a busy background.

They have a nice wide FoV for that magnification (32/33ft @ 100y).

Well, the Hawke Sidewinder FFP does not fair much better. A lot less FoV (23ft)....

Why not an SWFA 3-15x44 FFP? (Tough as nails; Thick reticle outside posts; no IR; 120moa elevation adjustment; 35ft FoV; $700 MRSP)

Or the Athlon Midas TAC 4-16x50 FFP? (Thick reticle outside posts; 28ft FoV; $740 MRSP)

Or the Falcon 3-18x50 FFP? (Thick reticle outside posts; huge 39ft FoV; 90 moa; 39ft FoV; $400)

Or the Swampfox Kentucky Long 3-18x50 FFP (Thick reticle outside posts; 35ft FoV; $530 MRSP)

Or the Hi-Lux PentaLux TAC-VF 4-20x50 FFP (Thick reticle outside posts; 28ft FoV; $575 MRSP)

They all have 10y side parallax, exposed turrets, holdoff reticle, mil/mil (SWFA also in moa/moa), IR.

Just wondering...... 😊
