The Hawke Sidewinder tactical 6.5-20 X42? Anyone have experience with both of these? If so which one do you prefer? I will be putting it on a .25 cal Cricket rifle. Main purpose is plinking and hunting.
Hawke Sidewinder tactical 6.5-20 X42 has a 20x reticle which you might like. The Airmax has a lighted reticle which most say they don't use. I ordered a Airmax which I will be changing to a Hawke Sidewinder tactical 6.5-20 X42 after reading some articles on forum.
I have had the Airmax sf 30 and the Sidewinder....the Sidewinder wins without a doubt. The Airmax has problems focusing at closer range, and has a fuzzy picture quality to it. The Sidewinder has a clearer picture even in low lighting Some of the feature are better on the Airmax, but the SIdewinder is the better scope Mike
I have the Hawke Sidewinder 6-24 with mill dot. I really like this scope. The side focus wheel is very smooth and really makes it easy to focus and set your parallax. I also like the screw on scope caps. The camera setup I use attaches very easily to the scope with the Eagle Vision set up. It has a very sharp image uncles or a distance. I have played with the IR, but have not actually used it yet. This is the first adjustable power scope I have had in years that is not 1st focal plane. It took a little getting use to be for me it's is a great scope. I would buy one again with hesitation.
Same here. I have a 6-24 Hawke sidewinder on my FX Royale 400 and the scope is very nice. I have owned it since last August and every time I use it I am still amazed.
