Hawke 6x24x56 not holding 0

It doesn't necessarily come centered from the factory. Both of mine didn't. Having your turrets cranked all the way to the end isn't good. I'm not saying yours are or not. You should check. Sometimes for some reason taking the scope off and putting it back on can fix this issue, as you did. Dont over tighten the rings either. Having your scope centered is good practice and leaves the reticle centered and your able to make major adjustments in any direction if needed.

There's a process called " shooting a square" to see if scopes can be adjusted and return to zero. This can be done at 20 yards or so. Simply zero your scope at 20. Shoot 3 pellets at a bullseye or whatever. Now turn turret 10 moa (40 clicks) left, shoot 3 pellets while still aiming at bullseye. Turn turret 10 moa up, shoot 3 pellets again aiming at bull.Turn turrets 10 moa right, shoot 3 always aiming at bullseye. And finally turn 10 moa down and shoot 3 pellets. These last 3 should be at your original zero and you should have a square on your target.

I bought a Vortex viper scope that I really like , I am going to put one on both Crickets 22 and 25 and the new Mutant when I get it,
I had a bad set of rings I set it up with and It would not hold a zero for nothing, I boxed it up ready to send it back and just for the hack of it installed another set of high 30 mm rings and the rest is history , The best scope I have ever owned,
As soon as I get payPal paid off I am selling the Hawke scope, Nice but the lines are to small for my old eyes, and I am going 100% Vortex viper,
All three guns with the same scope how cool is that.
