Have Walther spring piston been discontinued?

There is a thread somewhere someplace about the LGU / LGV's being discontinued a while back. It was said that there was a cost factor involving something to do with machining that governed the decision.

I am fortunate enough to have purchased my LGU in the second wave that came to the U.S. about 10 years ago + or - a few years on either side. The trigger needed a lot of attention and it has been an ongoing project during that time. I modified the factory trigger by moving the second stage screw back to get more leverage and just recently tuned up that mod up. That gun shoots as good or sometimes better than my Daystate PCP's on the right day.

I went out of my way to find a good used, wood stock LGU because I was late to the game myself. It ls one of my favorite guns to shoot. If you come across a used one, buy it. That goes for the LGV and the Terrus as well.

I have 2 LGUs, 177 and 22 cal. I got both used and they are my most accurate springers. I recently got a 25 cal HW97K and like it so much I looking to see if the LGU came in that caliber.

Walther tried to make too many different models of basically the same gun, the LGV, and that sucked the profits out of their venture. Its sad that they chose to stop altogether rather than work out their production issues.

Blackdiesel, Sorry, the LGV was never made in .25 cal. However, if your guns are 16J and you want to up them to 23J, Hector Medina can hook you up with a spring and custom spring guide. He made a couple for me. Connecticut Custom Airguns - Welcome! (ctcustomairguns.com)

The triggers on the LGV/LGUs left something to be desired for many people. Its easily sorted out though with aftermarket triggers. Rowan made some decent ones. I bought several from Eric Pianori. His triggers are excellent. I also had him hone the seers on my LGV. My .22 cal LGV is easily my most favorite and accurate airgun in my collection. Well, ok I also have a .177 LGV challenger too. Those two guns are basically the only ones in my collection I care to shoot anymore. I'm thinking of selling off some of the others. My HW97kt and Diana 56 just sits in a corner and collects dust. I like my LGVs that much.

If any of y'all ever see an LGV for sale, snap it up.

I have to give a shout out for Eric as well. His triggers are amazing and his customer service is beyond exceptional (I had a couple of install issues and he walked me through it along with creating a private YouTube video). I have them for my LGV and LGU and couldn't be happier. I know this may be a controversial statement but I prefer his triggers compared to those on a TX200 or HW97k - I had both of these rifles and sold them to kept the two LGs On a side note, I just prefer the overall feel of the Walthers and love that solid lock up after cocking. They feel like you are closing a bank vault compared to the others.

I'm not looking for more power, my 2 LGUs are perfect. I was just looking for a different LGU. I might get a 20 cal HW97K to satisfy my craving for a new under-lever springer.
