Hatsan Nova Star won't cock

Ok this happed on my Quattro trigger on my Mdl 95. I can’t remember exactly which part but one of the sears came out of position when you put it back together. So just pull the trigger assy one more time and reinstall it making sure all trigger parts stay engaged when you drop all the pins in. You may need to make slave pins to help keep everything in place

I had too much tension on the hammer spring.

Thanks for your help.

Glad You got it straightened out.

Aside from that minor issue, how do you rate the Nova Star? ...and which caliber did you select?

Thanks!

Mike

That " minor issue" is just the tip of the iceberg. I have a .22 caliber not by selection, I wanted a .25 but none in stock.

The retailer had a 20% off so I grabbed the .22.

Rated 2 out of 5..... the stock is very nice and it has a carbon fiber bottle

everything else is poor quality and prone to failing.

This is my first pcp. The appearance was alluring, the performance is poor.

The screw heads are very soft and prone to stripping if you look at it too hard.

The hammer screw adjuster will not hold and the factory's remedy was to take a hammer and deform the threads

which did not work so the fps are all over the place, the plastic stop for the hammer spring is being gouged by the hammer spring which probably

contributes to the fps being all over the place.

Thanks for asking

Huh.

Well,I Was considering one in .25 but for That kind of cash outlay,I would expect a little higher build quality.

If I wanted a "project gun",I'd buy a .25 Gauntlet. (Still might.) At least I know what I'm getting into.

Thanks for your insightful response!

I just got a Hatsan_Refurbished Neutron Star .22 . Like all _refurbished Hatsans, it came with the check list of items it had to go through to pass, including the fps and the tech who checked it off.

As soon as I went to cock it, it won't catch. It just pulls. So I requested an RMS with no word from Hatsan USA, yet. I know they have a 90 day warranty on used guns. I may try the trigger adjustment after reading this. Hopefully, that's all it is. I REALLY want this to work out.

I've heard that most airguns are hit or miss, no pun intended, which is annoying. I have no idea what is truth or myth. I have only been buying airguns for less than two years, although it feels like way longer because I'm so into it. It's an addiction !

I own the .177 already and it is an AMAZING air rifle. Once you find the pellets it likes, you can't go wrong - BUT, all the parts need to be working. I think I got lucky on my .177. It likes JSB Exact Heavy 16.20 grain pellets. Shoots like a laser and 916 fps over and over and over again.
