Hatsan Flashpup Reviews and Opinions

My friend bought a bullboss and had nothing but issues and decided to hate Hatsan forever.

Fast foward a year and he found a great deal on a refurbed Flashpup .25 and he loves it.

Been going strong for almost two years now with zero issues. He uses it for pest bird control and it gets used almost daily.

The Flashpup as most say is Hatsams best design.

I like that it's small and lite but packs some punch and decent shot count. Its air efficient as well

A friend of mine has one (.22) and the only oddity is that he has to keep replacing the o-rings on the fill adapter. Can’t see any reason, nothing rough or detectable burr, but still...only really annoying be cause he fills from a hand pump and it makes a lot of extra work. I find the magazine design fiddly compared to the ones for my Marauders.

It is a nice shooter and accurate as one would expect. The trigger is nice considering the bull pup design.

Love mine in .22! Bought a refurb'd one about a year ago and grab it first over a bantam .22 and a streamline .22 a lot of days! Currently have a swfa ss 16x milquad on mine set up to shoot jsb 18's. This is 12 @ 50yrds shot the other morning (full mag):

I have a .22 Flashpup and I love it. One year now and several thousand pellets with only one problem and that was my fault for shooting some pellets that had a lot of loose casting flash and I tore up the barrel o ring. Simple fix with the included spare.

Getting ready to do some tuning (port / Huma .25 cal reg / hammer spring) and see if I can get it shooting up near 40FPE with some of the new HN hollowpoint slugs. If I can do that and still get a full mag before dropping off the reg I'll be very pleased.

What I like about this gun: Lightweight, very accurate, shoots almost anything well little rough around the edges but they're cheap, easy to carry, excellent small pester at closer ranges 60 yds and under, very rugged, trigger is as good as you want to make it (very adjustable and easy to achieve a crisp light break). And did I say Deadly yet?

What I don't like: Bolt is a little less than optimal ergonomically but functions flawlessly (you get used to it), It's got a fairly loud ping over and above the pellet report (hopefully Huma will help that).

Would I recommend one one? Yes, Hell I'll probably get another myself.

Refurb 22. Light, hard hitting, accurate with JSB 18 gr and AA 16 & 18 gr pellets, good trigger. Scope rail is alittle cheap, easy to shim if needed. The biggest down side were the mags. there,idk,,mis-aligned,out of time. Jams when using the mags. The new red ones. I use the single shot tray exclusively ,I shimmed it for better alignment. Has a bit of what sounds like hammer spring bounce. I clear coated the stock, helped the looks imo. It's a good shooter, Like Queequeg wrote, out to 60 yds,

I have .22 & .25 cal flashpup's wood stock.i'am left handed and shoot them very well.take time and practice with this little airgun, you will adapt.right out of the box no mod's,clean barrel and adjustments to trigger,to my liking.shimmed rear scope rail mount .190 shim.used and old car plate for shim material, drilled hole, placed between mount and receive .reinstalled scope got alot of up clicks back in scope.resight at 25 yards..22 cal is not modified yet, will use huma regulator .25 cal in the .22 cal . Looking for longer regulated shot string.lower power level 12 ft lbs or a little lower.NOW THE .25 is power tuned to push the JSB'S king heavy 33.95 mk2 pellets,unregulated.10 shots that is 1 magazine, all shots in the 800 fps range.starts at 805 fps climbs to 840 fps then drops back to 805 fps.plenty of power, for around here.placed donnyfl moderator shogun and EMPEROR.makes very very quiet.my .25 cal flashpup,i cal(HAMMER)really puts a hurting on the night time back yard bandits .racoons at 30yds,headshots not a problem.skunks lungs and heart shots are clean passthrough shots.have over 4000 shots through the .25 cal, replaced breech seal, when I felt air hit my face.i would buy again.Michael, out if you want a refurbished model, must get on the list.they will notify you when they have one in stock.but don't wait.my .22 cal flashpup is a refurbished model ,they stamp an R in the receiver.

I have had my .22 for a couple years now. Favorite pcp to take hunting. Lite accurate and get 2 mags with an average of 902 fps with JSB JUMBO 18.13 gn. That’s 31 to 35 fpe. A third mag averaging 861 fps. Just cronyed it last night trying Hades 15:89 gn at 941 fps over 2 mags. Didn’t like the drop in fpe over the heavier pellets. On the list waiting for a refurbed .25.
