Hatsan Flashpup and SLUGS

Hello, new here.. I tried the search function but couldnt find what I am looking for (probably my fault!).

I currently have a 22 gauntlet and dont like it for hunting, it shoots amazingly (0.3-0.4" groups at 75yds with nsa 17.5 slugs) but its just too heavy and long to carry around in the woods. I always end up knocking it on a tree or fence im crossing and end up throwing off the POI slightly... So I am looking at getting a flashpup for squirrel and rabbit hunting. I WANT to shoot slugs, I like the extra impact and damage they do and how they buck the wind better in the ever changing outdoors. I've seen some youtube videos and posts about the .25 shooting nsa slugs really well, but I havent seen much on the .22 version. I would kind of like to have the speed of the .22 for less holdover/unders when shooting in the woods, but I could be swayed to a .25 pretty easily.

Anyone have experience with the flashpup 22 and slugs (any kind)? Does it like them at all or am I going to just chase my tail if I go that route? I have seen the videos and reviews about the accuracy with pellets, but I just really like slugs for critters... I don't shoot much paper.

I have a Gauntlet that had the same issue. I found a really simple solution. I screwed off the barrel shroud and simply removed the spring and the plastic baffle. The increase in noise was almost unnoticeable and the POI has been rock steady since. Give that a try and see if that meets your needs. It takes less than 2 minutes to do and another 2 minutes to undo.
