Hatsan Flashpup .25 cal. Magazines sux!!!

Went to the Texas Airgun Show this past weekend and won a new Hatsan Flashpup. Got it scoped today and got to shoot it a few times. It’s very quiet and I like the overall size. A big dislike are the magazines it comes with. They don’t seem to fit very well and polymags don’t fit. Does anybody else own one of these and having problems with the magazines? Going to run it over the chrony in a week or two when I get some time and see what it’s doing.

Im not sure if that uses the same mag as the at-44s. I have the at in 177 and the mag is great. I had the 25 cal version for a couple days and I had some trouble getting the mags to seat correctly. I only shot a couple mags thru it but it was kind of a pain. As for the pellets fitting there are a number of complaints out in various reviews that state any longer plets just dont fit. Frustrating to say the least. For what its worth I love how my at44 shoots. I really love the accuracy and have it almost dialed in perfect. Mine is not fussy on pellets but I have only put big box store cheapies thru it so far. Gonna start testing some of the higher quality ones to see if I can shrink the groups a bit more. Im getting 10 shot groups to come in at 3/4 of an inch at 25 yds. Oh and congrates on the win!

I'm hoping it's true, but I read one of the latest reviews on PA from someone that said they are making new ones for them. I ended up here looking for more info on it.

I have one in .25 cal, love the gun, hate the magazines as well. I was able to do a semi-fix on mine by loosening the center screw on the magazine so the clear cover spins smoothly. This has worked great for the JSB 25.39 gr but I switched to test the H&N Baracuda's and the Hunter Extreme's and they immediately started jamming up again, I loosened the screw some more and they are cycling again. I can't guarantee that it'll work, but it helped mine, one of the main reasons I bought the gun was because it has a mag for followup shots, without that feature I don't want the gun.

I've got my fingers crossed for new mags being made, I have heard the BullMaster/Barrage/Proxima/Sortie Rotary Mag fits this one, and it's a good mag, they cost $25, in your case I can see getting them, you won it, that's awesome, and congrats, but in my case I shouldn't have to spend another $50 for a couple of working mags, they should have been made right the first time around.

I can say that this is my only real complaint with the gun, I love it, it's light and easy to handle, accurate, powerful, made solid, you can't beat it for the price for a low-cost hunting PCP, others in this price range on the market don't have the power. I can't believe they put out such a nice little gun with the mags that way, it's impossible not to know they were screwed up.

I had similar issues with the .22 cal Flash and contacted Hatsan (online service/warranty form) and received a couple new magazines that work perfectly.

I can't speak to the .177 or .25 cals, but maybe the issue with the mags/feeding is similar.

Here is the 3rd video I made about my Flash and the mag issues I had with two different units, a theory on why the mags were jamming, and inspecting and shooting the updated replacement magazines from Hatsan. Not sure if it will help or not, but I'm just throwing it out there FWIW..

Thanks for the vid and info. I contacted Hatsan right after watching your vid, they responded the next day and told me they would ship out the new, working .25 cal mags to me when they get them in.

The screw loosening thing worked a bit on mine, they were holding the pellets so tight it wouldn't cycle. I thought it was a fix when they started working, but cocking it fast and using the same pellet (JSB .25 25.39 gr) is what was working, as soon as I changed to H&N Baracuda's and hunter extremes it was right back to jamming. I could get the mag to cycle H&N's by loosening the screw more, but not smooth, it is not a fix for them not lining up and getting mangled up when trying to load with the mag. I really hope they get them fixed and I get mine soon, if not I'll get my money back and save it for a nice, accurate, powerful, lightweight bullpup when I can afford it, but it won't be a Hatsan if they ignore the mag issue.

An update and good news should have posted this two days ago, been busy. Got a message from Hatsan...

I sent in a message and got this back twelve days ago, "We are sorry to hear that you are having issues with your Flashpup. We have new magazines on their way from the manufacturing facility. Once the magazines arrive, we can have some replacements sent out to you."

I went to the website and put in for a notification of when the new magazines for the flash and flashpup would be in stock. I got a message from Hatsan before they were even showing that the mags were available on the site. Real happy with the way they are handling this.

...message I received after ten days...

Scott, We have received the .25 caliber magazines. We will have some replacements sent out to you shortly.

...Hatsan is definitely fixing the mag issue, real happy with the customer service and hopefully the fix to this issue. Can't wait to get 'em and try 'em out.
