So I have a Hatsan Flash mostly stock in .25 cal. I do have aftermarket ebay qe barrel baffles installed, they helped as well. It is pretty quiet but I want to get rid of the slight ping from the hammer strike. Looking at all the ideas from least expensive to the method I went with. I installed a Huma Reg ( set at 95 bar) with a .30 cal plenum. Don't know the exact cc size but for the money and side benefits I feel that, for me, this was the way to go. Roughly same amount of shots (actually a few more) also less than 11 fps spread in the test string. The ping has diminished significantly. Don't have a sound meter to know for sure, but shooting indoors I can really tell. Thought I would pass this information on. I also own a Hatsan Hydra and I am planning on doing the same mod to that as well. I also might do an air cylinder switch of the two if they are compatible, the Hydra's is shorter, as I want to see how light I can make the Flash. Turning it into a "Fly weight pcp." This is just me playing and making a dedicated, high shot count, backyard - nosy neighbor friendly, pest eliminator. I did not adjust the hammer spring tension or change orifice sizes (enlarge ports). It is still stock in that respect. So I shot one string and will shoot another and record the results and if interested I will post the results as a follow up. I do have one question that piques my interest. Now that I have a regulator holding back the full air pressure of the 200 bar air cylinder, could I possibly be able to safely fill to maybe 205 to 210 bar. I can't remember where I saw the info but remember seeing such a statement and the reason why. If someone could point to the location of information for me to digest I would be greatly appreciative.
