recently bought an hatsan at 44 in 22 ca.l instruction manul says it should get 50 effiective shots per fill.i get 28 to 30 shots and the air pressure is at 100 bars, is this the norm and what do they consider effictive shots.i have not shot it thru the crony at 100 bars maybe it will shot effictive below 100 bars anyone has information on this.

I think in stock form they are a bit "optimistic" on their shot count. At 100 bar as compared to 200 bar your string will likely vary over 100FPS.
Now I did just regulate my AT44 (in .177) which is a Tactical (short tube) I am getting 46 shots at 17FPE with a 19fps ES.(Just over 2% variation)

I got the AT44 10 Short and depending on how close you want you velocity spread you will only get about 24 to 30 usable shots. The best thing to do is fill your rifle to 3000 psi and start shooting it over the chronograph and record the fps till it drops off. When you fill it again note how low the psi/bar went down before the fps drop.. Look at your recorded shot string and hopefully you will see the velocity curve. Then decided what an acceptable fps spread for accuracy and try to fill to a psi/bar level that will give you that velocity spread. I think before I put a regulator in my Hatsan I was filling to 2800 psi and shooting down to 1800 psi or 193/131 bar and getting about 24 shots within 20fps. Bill PS I don't know if your Hatsan is the short or long version. That would be 180cc vs 230 cc air tube.

"effective" does seem to mean the pellet exits the barrel. 20-30 shots sounds about right for that rifle to me.

thanks for the info i'am just getting started in the pcp world,i'vs been shooting and reloading powder guns for years but this pcp world is a new to me,i have a lot of questions about these guns,thanks for the help you guys have give me.

you have to watch the "advertising" with all of them. Kinda like the springers that do 1200-1300fps. Some will do this, but only with super lightweight basically useless pellets.
