Hatsan 87 Vortex QE.

A few weeks back I decided to pick up this rifle to play around with in .22 so far I'm liking it. I've only changed out one thing so far and that was the scope rings. First shooting session I just couldn't keep them tightened down, so I swapped them out with a set of UTG rings I had laying around. The scope that came packaged itself isn't great, but its workable out to 30yds for me.

The recoil on it isn't bad compared to my 125, and power wise I'm getting around 18ft-lbs with Beeman Copper FTS going at around 748fps. Overall weight isn't bad either. So far I'm finding it a nice little practice springer that I'd feel confident using for pests. With a better scope on it and in a pinch it would be good for small game hunting.

I have a 95 Vortex in .22. I've only had it a month and it's on it's way back to Hatsan because it's shooting slow for some reason. Under warranty so that's good. But when I first got it man did it hit hard. Make sure you check the screw that connects the stock to the action at the trigger. Mine kept coming loose and my groups would open up. Never had an issue with the forestock screws backing out, just the one at the trigger.

Got some trigger time in at last tonight with some 15.89gr JSB's. Didn't have any of my usual targets so instead I just setup soft drink cans again at various distances where I could see with the outdoor lighting I have. Pretty sure after hitting each can multiple times the 15's are going to be one of the more accurate pellets for mine. Figure if I can hit cans at those distances then I should be able to at least get a rabbit if one presented itself later on with more practice.

"glengiles"With my 95 I'd fill up a Coke can with water and shoot it. The split would be from top to bottom with almost a 2" opening in the front. That was shooting CPHPs. My 95 got to Hatsan repair yesterday. Looking forward to getting it back.
I think Rick Eutsler is the Hatsan repair guy.
I hope not because my gun is in Arkansas and he lives in Arizona.
