Has this scope been "re-engineered?"

I just received a Vector Optics Marksman 10x44 scope which I purchased used from an AGN member. Everything looks good--except I see no way to reset the turrets. It looks like someone has replaced the removable screws on top of the turrets with a non-removable disk. The small manual that comes with the scope doesn't address this, and I can't find any pics of this scope on the internet that look like this.

Is this something done at the factory or has someone done their own "engineering" on the scope? Thanks in advance for your help.

That looks like it may just be Carbon fiber vinyl wrap. Try to peel it off and see if the adjustment is underneath.

Thanks. It's more than vinyl. It has some depth to it. It seems to be a hard disc of carbon fiber or some other material.

What does the AGN member say?.

May we assume you cannot turn it by pressing on it with say, a rough callous thumb.

Darn, hoping it would be something simple. Only reason I think it's vinyl, is that it's not a perfect circle. Seems cut kind of wonky.

Hopefully they didn't lose the retaining screw on top and epoxied a dummy plug on top to hold on in place.

I would try use a thumb tip in the center to press it down and try to unscrew it counterclockwise.

Its only a piece of fancy tape on top !!!

Thanks for the ideas. It's hard and has some thickness to it; not like tape. I've tried pressure in the center in order to turn it. I've tried gently putting a small blade in the seam and prying it. No success.

I believe the seller sent the scope without knowing that this was an issue. When I contacted him he said he didn't know how to reset the turrets and suggested I look for a Youtube video.

If you can press use some loose agent to get the adhesive off that might be good like krud cutter...but i would try water on a rag with the scope upside down to prevent water damage. Maybe it could loosen the adhesive up enough to yank it off.

It was tape after all. Glad I didn't pry anymore than I did. Thanks for your help!

That slotted coin screw is probably buggered up and the tape may have been used to cover it up.
