Has Crosman been as bad to you as to me?

A while back I bought a Crosman gas-ram break barrel is 22. When it arrived, I couldn't get the supplied open sights to zero in, even with the rear sight all the way to one end. In cleaning the gun, I noticed that the internal channel for the barrel was actually bent! The pellet was not coming straight from the barrel. I contacted them, and they sent me a new barrel. So far, so good. When it arrived, it was the wrong size, and the needed end parts didn't come with it. There were no instructions for anything. When I contacted them a second time, I received this reply: " You said the barrel of your rifle was bent so you were sent a new barrel. Barrels do not come with seals or sights. " And they attached a parts list... They won't get another penny from me. (I don't even buy their pellets!) Is this normal from them, or have others had better experiences?

They have treated me that well. There really isnt any other manufacturer who provides the level of support crosman does, try just picking any six airgun parts for another brand and try ordering those, it will take a lot more time and money and some just wont be available. Very few companies will allow folks to work on their own rifle and maintain warranty - or just offer you this option instead of having to ship the entire rifle and wait.

Some people are put off in that to get parts ( warranty or otherwise ) YOU need to know what you want, all parts are just a number to their excellent customer service operators ( who shoot ) NO chat, NO advice & NO questions from them ever. PDF in one hand & CC ( or maybe warranty ) in the other makes for a 90 second transaction with parts shipped asap at a value rate.

Part company model and part what their lawyers say they must do to not inure liability.

Sounds like you were dealing with warranty ( and you had the option of a replacement rifle in your hands within one week right ? , good service there ) AND parts.

Now this is on crosman BUT , "parts" does always come down to PDF #'s period. A barrel IS one parts, bolts ons are more part #'s and you should be able to swap most even if they seem a press fit (?).

Crosman really does have just about the best warranty and parts support in the airgun industry ( last for years and is transferable ) try not to let one transaction with not enough communication sour you on them. They really are better than almost all others for parts and do make some excellent rigs.

My policy is that if I buy ANYTHING, I am familiar with the warranty (as you have stated) and I am aware of what the return-policy is from the retailer. In the case of my latest air rifle purchase, I was happy to learn that the retailer offered a 30-day money-back return. Luckily, the air rifle I purchased has not been a "dud" so I have not had to deal with Crosman on the warrenty-level. But if I had a problem with it right out of the box, I would take it back to the retailer and ask for my refund, or exchange it for a new one. Just my $0.02.
