Has anyone purchased RTI Prophet Performance Compact yet???

@joedort99 contact the dealer and or rti and get a new reg shipped to you. Rti is very good about replacing defective products and if the leaks is that slow you probably won’t detect it with soap and water test.

I contacted the RTI Spain guys by e-mail after finding my fitting leak. Twice.

No answer back ! Interesting that they did answer an earlier question that I had about O-rings if I needed them. And said, "don't hesitate to contact us for further help" !

I drilled and taped the hole for 1/4" pipe plug. A bit of a pain because of the short depth of the original hole, but it's done. Currently plugged with 1/4" pipe plug and some high powered sealant paste. No leakage in about a week now.

Francisco is a retailer for RTI, Huben, and EdGun. Also, he is one of the best competitive shooters in the world. We spoke a couple of weeks ago and I asked him why he wasn't at RMAC. Francisco was supposed to be there, but though he had all his paperwork and clearances to come to USA in August they wouldn't let him board the plane in Barcelona. I hope he can make it to EBR, it isn't be the same I think with one of the champions not being there to defend his title.

@mikehunt yeah, he seems like a very nice guy and for him to do what he did with as you describe was a prototype gun then that says something about his shooting ability. I have spoken to several people who have met him in person, and say he is the nicest guy. Also, I have bought a couple of scopes and a whole kitted Leshiy 2 from him. And I do plan to buy my PPC from him in the near future. He and I have spoken a number of times on the phone or via whatsapp and he is always the nicest person, so again he will have my business even if I am not in europe.

Well AoA is awesome. Just got off the phone with Shane to order some daystate pulsar baffles, they have used ones for $3 each. 4 should fit the shroud well. I asked him about the leaking tether fosters and he said they had to fix a handful of them but RTI switched over to a doudie washer that is metal on top and rubber on bottom. He said to use lots of heat to break the sealant and try not to strip the threads. He threw in one of those washers so I could hopefully fix my leaking foster. Pretty decent guys when you get them on the phone.

Got my compact in and got to play around with it in the basement range. Only 7-8 yards but enough for me to do some chrono testing and scope sight in. Came with reg set to 160 bar, holy power setting batman. Turned it down to 100 bar as I planned to use pellets in the 14-18 grain range. Once the reg was set lower, I got a nasty ping sound in the plenum area. Gun is still loud even with the pressure lowered so I put a Huma Moderator on and got clipping issues even though it is a .25 cal mod on a .22 rifle. Pulled the shroud and it came off pretty easy since the oring on the air stripper is not very tight. I didn't have any larger orings to switch out so I layered some teflon tap under it and put the shroud back on. Little tighter so hoping it stays centered better. There are 6 set screws holding the shroud in place and I tried my best to tighten them as even as possible. Hammer spring feels pretty heavy and may be the cause of low round count. When the shots were getting down below the reg setting it had a much tighter sound and less noise making me think it is wasting gas. The edges of the side plates could have been deburred as they are kind of sharp. May have to give them a slight sanding to knock down the sharp edges. It came with 1 mag and I bought a second with it. They both were the newer round kind and worked flawless. Ordered from Airguns of Arizona over the phone and they asked me to give them 3-5 days to test it before getting it out the door. Well it arrived in 5 days with no email tracking so I was surprised to see it show up when it did. Shoots good and light weight so looking to add some baffles to the empty shroud and get a .30 short moderator to help with the clipping issue. Might also add a neoprene cheek rest to not have to rest my face on the metal shroud and receiver. Also add a neoprene pad to the buttplate. Overall not a bad little gun and my first high end purchase. Looking forward to tuning it up. Also changed out the grip for a magpul one with no finger groove.

Did you discover the cause and rectify the ping in the plenum area? I just received the Performance version and have the same thing.

So here is mine

TPS rings, Blackhawk 3-9x40 scope basically a rebranded Weaver Grand Slam Tactical that was made for Midwayusa good mil/mil scope with japanese glass for less that $200. Not sure they make them anymore. Atlas knock off bipod, Tufforce rail extension, and magpul grip. I just shaved the beavertail off the grip so it would fit. Fuller grip and no terrible finger grooves. Also needed some washers under the bolt for the grip as it bottomed out before tight.

Well that rear foster fitting is not going to come out with any amount of heat. Rob from RTI finally got back to me and said he had some parts coming to AoA and that he would throw in a receiver just in case I mess up mine. May just have AoA give it a shot or trade out receivers with one that doesn't leak.

Edit: got it out but I think I galled up a new one I had that actually had longer threaded area and bottomed out on the receiver hole against a nylon washer and oring. Have it sitting with some air to see if will hold air now with the new foster fitting.

Edit #2: So I got the rear foster sealed but was still seeing a slow leak so I checked the regulator foster and it is slowly leaking at the threads. Just goes to show that this high pressure sealant is a real pain in the butt. Let Rob know as I am not sure I can remove another one without jacking it up. Maybe I can get the updated regulator with this fix.

I found a delrin butt plate for the prophets on ebay. Works pretty good and has 2 screws, one for the bottom hole and the other goes through the air release hole. Took me a bit to figure out how to mount it. Have to slide the flat nut up through the bottom and hold it in place while you tighten the air release hole bolt. The delrin is definitely less slippery than the flat butt plate.
