Tuning Has anyone ever had this happen?

I removed the scope from my 1322 yesterday; swapped one of the mounts out for a different one, took the other mount loose, and rearranged them. Then re-levelled the scope. I waited until today to re-zero the gun, and came to find it's hitting dead on the crosshairs!

They were all BKL mounts. The new one I used is the same height, but a different length of mount.

If I so much as remove a scope from any of my guns and re-install, the zero seems to always shift. 🤔 So I am a bit surprised. Especially given how flimsy 1322s typically are. I have done my best to eliminate that with a GMAC breech which has really superb fitment with the barrel. And very recently a Maverick barrel band. That band is so much better than anything else available, it doesn't make any sense. Maybe it worked. Maybe the gun is finally solid?

There's got to be some level of luck in play.... ?

I replaced the rear ring with larger one, and moved forward so I could see the numbers on the parallax wheel.

Old setup on left.

I bet the metal breech and the Maverick band help quite a bit at making that happen. When you change both the band and breech to metal on the 13xx guns they get nice and stable. Makes a huge difference in the way they feel and shoot.

Still it is a rare occurrence you speak of for sure.

The BKL mounts are self-centering. That should help, but being that I moved the mount point.... And used a different mount... Either the variance of tolerances just decided to agree with eachother..... Or the mounts, breech, and scope are all THAT true. The Maverick band has a set screw that pins the barrel in place. I did get a metal band from GMAC before, and it was not only the wrong height, but was canted as well. 😒 I tried making a secondary band (2240 band cut/ re-shaped/welded/tapped for new set screw). But my POI still shifted every so often. But it worked better than anything else did.

It really sucks when you get new parts that are defective and unusable or near so. I just got one of the Maverick units as they looked to be a decent band and the good metal ones are few and far between as you have noticed. Sometimes the stars align and things go as planned. ;^)
