Has anyone been attending NRL22 events?

Sorry idoc but I need to correct you ,slugs are allowed up to .25 cal and pellets up to .30 cal

Need to get the officials in charge to amend the rules to allow slugs. There has to be some official way To go about amending the rules. That would level the playing field. Who do we email or call or........??

All the officials need to do is restrict the energy level. Most standard velocity 22rf is 100 fpe or just over, and there's also people using high velocity 22 ammo which is 130 fpe. That same 130 fpe should be the cap for power with an airgun. So 30 caliber and below, sub 130 fpe, a slug class, and pellet class has it's own division.
Often it's the guy who shoots best off of obstacles and makes the least mistakes that does the best in this sport. NRL22 is waaay different than what people are used to around here at AGN.
Wait until you get a chance to shoot with a 20 pound Vudoo 22rf, in a MPA chassis, with a single stage Trigger Tech trigger set at 4oz, off of a Fortune Cookie tactical bag, set on a sturdy obstacle! It's like cheating! It makes my Anschutz seem silly in a way.

Been shooting NRL22/NRLX22,PRS22 for 2 years. Have yet to see anyone shoot in the air gun class. Here in North central Oklahoma we’re lucky enough to have 5 places within 1.5 hours drive that hold monthly matches.

Unless a bunch of airgun friends plan to attend together it's a lonely endeavour so it takes some of the fun out of the whole thing. Also not much fun shooting these more difficult matches with airguns when everyone else is shooting 22rf. Even more so when part of the match is past 100Y like in NRL22x.
Make the targets bigger to help compensate for how much more our airgun projectiles blow in the wind, thereby enabling higher hit ratios, and it might be more appealing, but of course that will never happen because these matches are centered around 22rf.
Nice idea but it was a lost cause to begin with....

I just shot my second NRL last week in utah. My brother and I shot RF and PCP’s with slugs. It was great fun until our slugs wouldn’t push the dualing tree target to the other side at 100. I’n some stages we did as well with airguns as we did with RF’s, but overall it’s a big disadvantage to shoot an ag in the wind against match 22rf. Great practice and so fun!
