Happy with new Daystate 4500 Compressor

Had new Daystate 4500 compressor almost a month now and here are some stats for filling my Omega 75 tank. At this rate the compressor will outlast me by far prior to needing a rebuild. Compressor was a lot of money but I'm very pleased.

--- initial Omega 75 tank fill from 0 psi to 4500 psi (310 bars) took 21 mins. (discharged water twice). 
--- filled FX Royale 400 5 times from 150 bars to 220 bars (larger 480 cc bottle on FX 400)
--- filled FX Tarantula 1 time from 100 bars to 200 bars (not sure of Tarantula bottle size)
--- filled Omega 75 tank from 200 bars to 310 bars took 5 mins (discharged water once)

NOTE: Tank was quite warm after initial fill so the pressure likely dropped after tank temperature dropped to room temperature but did not record.
 
"TonyT" My local dive shop fills my tank to ca 4700 psi and it reads 4500 when it cools down to room temp. I contemplated purchasing a compressor but at only $5 per fill within a five mile drive the economics did not make sense.

Not so economical for me in dollars and time --- reasons why I chose to purchase a compressor. Actually, the Daystate is replacing an FX Compressor which is at/near end of life. The Daystate is way faster than the FX which is just a powered pump with liquid cooling and is now obsolete.

"Jay85"Thanks for the feedback Sunny, $3000 is a lot to spend but for me i may have to take the jump as its a PITA to find a shop to fill to 4500psi and honestly i haven't found anyone local.

Like I said before, it wasn't a difficult choice for me economically though it wasn't easy to shell out the coin. Plus the ability to have practically unlimited air supply rather quickly allows me to shoot way more than I would otherwise. My grand kids visited this weekend and had a blast shooting several hundred pellets w/o having to worry about air. That means a lot to me also.

"Jay85"Yeah I agree, I got my main tank filled once when I first got my Royal 500 and once it got to 3000psi I stopped shooting and never could find a shop within an hour to fill her back up so the last 2-3 years the guns just been lonely LOL! Really no way around this, gotta get one.

Once you get past the point of NEEDING a compressor, it boils down to which one to get. I was on the shoe box for a short time, then on one of the Chinese compressors for a while longer until I learned more about each. Then it came down to either Daystate 4500 or Bauer or AireTex. The Daystate 4500 was least expensive and it will outlast me for my personal use before it will need an overhaul. Good luck with yours.

I purchased the 240 volt electric model. I ran a dedicated 240 volt circuit for mine in my semi finished basement which also has low relative humidity. Being a retired electrical engineer it was straight forward for me. If you don't already have a 240 volt outlet (like for a dryer) and do not have an electrical background, I'd recommend getting an electrician to run a circuit for safety reasons. Good luck.

220/230/240 volt outlet are all the same and 14 amps max load for the compressor. I did not get the upgraded unit. It came with 310 bar safety bleed off valve and was $2995 with free shipping from Precision Air Guns and Supplies. So, if your 220 volt dryer outlet is rated at 30 amps you should be all set. You will need to cut off the European two prong plug from the compressor lead and replace it a matching plug for your existing dryer outlet.

Has any one replaced the hose on this Compressor?

All my tanks have QD on them so this hose with this DIN Male is not going to work for me. I looked into Female DIN to a QD but the F. DIN alone is $60+. It seems cheaper to get a new hose.

AOA is offering Female DIN to QD female connection for $65. This will attach to Daystate scuba refill connector 300 DIN (male).

Good to know this adapter is available. A little pricey but very convenient for application you mentioned.

It is a little pricy but, I looked around and found that just the Female DIN cost $60 and you still needed adapters and QD. Lets say other alternatives were $80-90 range.

Agree. I'll wind up getting one of these adapters even though it is over priced like a lot of other things related to this hobby/sport. But, I learned that 15 years ago when I first got into quality air guns. Thanks for the tip and the other info/links you posted about the Daystate (Coltri) compressor.
