hand pump/Talon P.

I don't know the size of your tank and the PSI you are heading to--but I pump my Benjamin Marauder .25 and do not find it very difficult. But I think the Talon has a much larger reservoir--probably more pumping time--but more shots as a consequence. The Air Force Escape is--I believe--designed to be pumped--but you would get fewer shots. So take that into consideration. I would just call AForce or the dealer and ask them.

My experience using a pump has not been at all bad. I am 55 but also over 200 pounds. You sort of lean on the pump--it is not at all like a bike pump. Body mass is a factor to consider. (If you are 130 pounds it is going to be a lot harder) I would not get caught up in the discussion about how many pumps--but focus on how much time it takes. You should not pump for more than five minutes--causes overheating (though AF says this is not a problem with their pump). But I never need more than that to top off the MRod. I get 16 to 18 shots on a top off (you would get double that on a 22) and might shoot 100 rounds in a session. Again, none of these numbers apply to a Talon. But I think the experience of using a pump would be similar.

I would not stay away from a PCP because people say they cannot be pumped. You will probably want to move to a tank at one point--I will. But I do not think you have to put off getting the rifle and having a great time because you do not have a tank.
This is just one person's opinion. Good luck.
