Hades Vs Baracuda Hunter Extreme.

Hades Vs Baracuda Hunter Extreme.

Has anyone done any testing on these two pellets for expansion? (Side by side?). Both these pellets are marketed for expansion and I would say the only reason you would buy these over normal pellets is for transfer of energy rather than pass-through of game.

They both look the same. I would say the Baracuda Hunter Extreme would expand as much as the Hades so I’m just asking if anyone has done any testing as such?

Accuracy is a consideration. Maybe the Hades are producing tighter groups but who’s to say the H&N’s are not as accurate?

Has anyone done any accuracy tests between the two?

I cant get them in my area as yet so that’s why I’m asking.

The Hunter Extremes in .177 and .22 have grouped very well in several of my rifles out to 35 yards or so. Ragged holes. The .25 cal didn’t do so well in my two .25 rifles.

They deliver a devastating impact like a wadcutter but the ones I’ve recovered from small game show very little expansion.

I intend to get some of the Hades to try soon.

In 7 years of airgunning, I’ve yet to find anything but JSB domes that have adequate accuracy for small game at 50+ yards.

The five most accurate pellets in my .22 AA S 510, after shooting literally hundreds of 10 shot groups at 50 yards, with about everything available in the U.S, in order beginning with the best performing are as follows:

H&N Baracuda 21.56

FX 18.1

FX 16.0

AA Diablo Field 18.0

JSB 18.13

Beyond 30 yards the H&N Hunter and Hunter Extreme were not accurate enough for me.

These are my findings when I compared the Hades vs Extremes.

Biggest noticeable difference is the HADES had larger entrance cavity vs Extreme

I don't quite understand why the FPS were this close numerically given the difference in weight of the pellets. Hades 15.89 vs Extreme 18.52. Fluke?

Wow! thanks for your test findings USAFANG67. That makes me think the Hades are worth trying. They are hard to get in my area so I’m going to have to try harder.

What about accuracy? Have you had a chance to do any grouping sessions? (30 - 50 yards etc?) .Obviously they would group better from gun to gun but it would be interesting to find out.

Tried them,Hades, in Liberty, naturally, Marauder and Disco.

The Marauder shoots Hades over 950 and up to 1k fps which is too fast which causes them to cork-screw.

The Disco shoots them in the high 700 fps. Rather slow because I have a weaker hammer spring which is set for more shot count. At 15 yards they are all in same hole.

I did some 30 yards shots today using the Liberty Hades combo shooting through wind and rain through a door opening and they were grouping around a quarter size.

Need to try the Hades in a couple of my springers to see how they group. Hope to try 15 & 30 yards.
