Hades, shooting great out of the .22 P-rod

Not sure, but... I was doing some comparing the other day with the JSBs 16 & I noticed that the Hades are basically 18 grainers thathave had their heads scooped upa bit. So it seems their center of gravity is different. There can also be a small difference in diameter, giving the CPHPs a bit more friction out of the barrel. Anyway, just what I can come up with.

It could be because Crossman pellets are a much harder alloy.

The Hades shoot great out of everything we have tried them in. I've got my Verteran shorty tuned to shoot the 18.1's. Thinking I'd probally have to back off the HS to shoot them, I tried them anyway. Well, at 930 fps, I got 1/2 groups at 50. Can't wait to shoot a nutter to see the carnage.

Yes the CPHP's are noticably harder. It takes more effort to distort the skirt on them than it does the JSB pellets, so maybe the Hades seal the barrel better...thereby shooting faster.

The only thing that kills that theory is that the regular JSB 15.89 round nose pellets do NOT shoot faster than the CPHP 14.3

I don't have a pellet scale, has anyone weighed the .22 Hades?

Just tried the hades in my prod after reading this, and oddly enough they have the same poi @ 50 as h&n sniper lights( what the gun is zero'd for)... Shooting lights out though! One thing i did notice is how smooth they loaded, almost no effort to chamber one compared to almost all other rounds being a bit more rough/ gritty w resistance when chambering.

It's funny that you said that.

Because in my Prod I have to shake the bolt a bit to get them to load smoothly. If I just shove them in they hang up and accuracy suffers a bit.

Any ideas what I can do to smooth the cocking/loading process ?

250 pages into a Bass Pro catalog at 30 yards. 750fps.

Pretty wicked 👌

I have also found they seem to deal slightly better with the wind than jsb 15.9s or 18s. I can offer no scientific reason for this but needless to say I am sold. Accurate and very good for dumping energy in rabbits, what is not to like.

If I was to guess I presume the air running through the three cut outs increases stability and thus keeps everything on course.
