Had to warranty my USO scope.

I picked up one of the USO TS-12x compact scopes when I saw one with a decent discount a couple of weeks back. On opening the package I found a beautiful little compact 3x12 scope with excellent tactile turrets and very crisp and clear optics. The reticle like so many FFP scopes is useless, for my old eyes, at less than 6 power or so as it is so thin it dissapears in the shadows. To bad most scope manufacturers seem unable to get this right. When I grabbed the ocular to adjust it I noticed first thing it turned way to easy and with a little sideways pressure I noticed a good amount of slop in it also.

So just one more scope to warranty. USO inspects these in the US before they send them out. I even received an lengthy inspection sheet with it inside the box. There is really no excuse for passing something that is as obviously defective as this. I have a Hawke and a Falcon that should have gone back as well but I just put an o-ring around the eyepiece and they tightened right up so I kept using them because at the time I was scope poor. But I am not doing that anymore new stuff needs to look and function as new or it goes back.

I get way to many defective items mostly form China but as of late from countries that know better as well.

So, just remember the TS branded USO scopes are made in China so be prepared to use the warranty, now and then, when they arrive.

Edit;

Did not want you to think all of their TS scopes would be like this. Most will not be.

This is actually the second USO TS scope I have purchased the other a TS-25X 5x25x50 and it is in pristine shape. This is what you will likely get most of the time.

I received the scope, back from warranty, from USO a couple days back. I did not hear the doorbell or a knock on the door. But I found it on sitting on my porch when I opened the door I was lucky it was still there! It should have been signed for.

USO replaced the eyepiece and O-ring. It is tight now. Pretty easy warranty procedure although I had to pay shipping one way. It came back in perfect shape. Now I have to make the very hard decision of which gun gets it. Such a rough life I have to live in the first world.
