Had the FX Impact Compact 3 wks... Already upgrades

Okay maybe it was me maybe it wasn’t but I don’t have confidence in the FX tuning regulator so I ordered and received a Huma tuning regulator and gauge. Also, I want to shoot slugs so I ordered and received today from Krale a 500 mm Superior liner in .22 cal. Saber Tactical bag rest something is coming from airgun101, Krale didn’t know when they would get them in and Airgun101 with exchange rate was almost the exact same price.

This weekend I will install the components after countless hours of watching youtube for this. Barrel liner Easy. Tuning regulator

Nothing wrong with these stock FX regs especially since they came out with the AMP unit. So long as yours is good to start with it should stay that way a very long time. The Huma units are no better I have both. The only reason to change to a Huma would be if you want to increase your reg pressure beyond the capabilities of the stock FX unit and with the new Power Plenum one should not have that need.

I am sure the Amp is fine, and it seems to be jumping so I decided to get a Huma installed, but I will hold on to the Amp.

your huma reg. may (will) screw in very tight,be sure to use the proper size screw driver.very easy to mess up slot in reg....

According to the literature and the outside of the Impact it is a Smooth Twist X barrel, not a superior liner barrel. Just curious does your impact say it is a superior liner? The Wildcat MK III comes with the superior liner, but according to the FX website the Impacts come with the Smooth Twist X barrel. However, if it is when I pull it off, then I will send it back to Krale for a refund.

The superior is a smooth twist x barrel (liner system) so even if they come with the superior liner the laser etching on the gun will say smooth twist x.

If its a superior liner then theres a sticker on the liner itself.

Okay, i will look, but the WildCat MKIII brochure lists that the Wildcat comes with the superior liner, but the Impact page just says Smooth Twist X, no superior liner comment.

I would not be surprised when you take out the original liner, it will have superior liner sticker on it!

Actually I appreciate the comments so before I rip the barrel etc apart I will call Krale tomorrow to find out if there is a superior liner in the gun, and if so I will return the one I bought from them.

Spinning off the shroud, unscrewing the liner retainer nut and pulling out the liner will be a lot more definitive than a phone call! Probably will take less time too!

I am also of the same opinion that the Huma reg is no better than the current FX AMP reg.

Yeah takes 2 mins, check it out.

Although first time may take a bit longer, might be loctite on the liner lock.

X3 on the reg, the AMP regs are excellent. Might take a tin or so to break in like any reg.

Might be wise to mark the threads on the liner retainer nut and index the liner before removal.

So you can reassemble exactly like it was before.

If it were mine, the last thing I would do is replace the AMP with a Huma, especially a new AMP.. The AMP works great on my Impact. I have had a much better experience with the AMP than I have had with Huma on a different gun.

Short of the new Slug Kits, the Compacts are the most up to date Impacts available.

Best add on for me was the SB tactical butt stock, improved my off hand shooting noticeably.

Why did you order a superior liner if you want to shoot slugs? The superior heavy is probably better, it's made for heavier slugs and pellets.

From all that I have read and seen all of the Impacts come standard with the Superior liners these days. That is unless you get a new old stock item from some vendor and then it would come with the stock STX pellet liner. If you want another liner you will likely have to purchase it separately. That is how it usually werqs with FX.
