Gun started with question

I am very curious ....
What air gun did you start with...
I am very jealous of these people that start with high end guns..
When I started I actually had no idea about high end air guns
I myself started with a 392 and thought I was in heaven.... how things change...
I was so happy to hit a quarter at 25 yards....so I started hunting squirrel..
And have progressed from there.... and I am so addicted it ain't funny now..

My Sheridan Blue Streak was the go-to gun for a few short years. I also had a Crossman .22 multi-pump, model unremembered, that saw some service for a while. Although the adjustable sights on the Sheridan were basic, they allowed me to make repeated eighty yard head shots on rabbits. I still don't know what weight conical shaped pellets were, only that they were the only game in town.

I started with a Crossman 88, BB Scout. Then I moved up to a Sheridan then an RWS 45 and 48 after that an RWS 75 (That was a game changer !) for Mini Sniping. Then life went on. In about 2009 (?) I saw Pyramydair's video on the Discovery. While saving for that I learned about the Marauders and the HW100. After I bought my first few Marauders, I was ready to get into a higher end gun but I wanted a lot of performance. I went the custom route by buying a USED HW100 in 177 and sent it to Alan Zasadny. He did a wonderful job building me a rifle that was FT accurate and Varminter rugged and all told, it was just over 1800.00 for the gun, tuning , custom barrel install and moderator. Now I have an FX400FT in 22 that is just so much fun to shoot it isn't funny.

I started off with a locally made break barrel gun. It was a sweet shooter till about 30 yards but that was the best I could get out of it. Bought that one in 1998. It still works but it's lying back home. Every time I visit, I do take it out for a few shots, oil it up and lay it back in its cabinet. Will never ever part with that one. It was what got me into shooting in the first place. I gave up shooting when I moved out of my home town for college. Couldn't afford to buy an airgun and I didn't shoot till about 2012. When I could finally afford it after getting a good job, I got myself the hatsan AT44 10 tactical. Started shooting every weekend and haven't stopped since. Then got myself a bobcat and later on exchanged it for the cricket I have currently.

Shooting is much more than a sport to me. It's my passion. But no matter how many high end PCP's come in, I will never forget the locally made .22 airgun that got me started off in 1998. That's a keeper.

I started out with a Chinese break barrel that my dad sawed off the stock to fit me. I don't remember it having any markings on it though, I wore out 4 of them before I was upgrade to a 22 cal shooting cb shorts. And my dad would let me shoot his feinwerkbau 124 sporter when I got big enough to carry it . That's when I discover the difference quality makes. But from 6-14 I was a killing machine, I was taught good birds vs bad birds my family are farmers. Bad birds= starlings blackbirds sparrows bluejays pigeons crows cowbirds all other birds were left unharmed. If you accidentally shot a bird not on the list you lost the gun for a month. To this day I can tell you by sound or flight what a bird is even if it's barely in sight. Some may argue that some of those birds are good that's just what I was taught. I think I've killed more birds than bird flu I learned that if you kill the white pigeon in a large flock and spread him out on a bare spot, you can almost kill the whole flock one at a time. I literally would get off the buss and kill birds, mice rats ground hogs snakes until dark everyday with an endless supply of pellets. and have also wondered if handling all those pellets was bad for me. Two years ago I got into pcps and besides shooting deer have no desire to shoot center fires anymore. I don't even understand it if anyone thinks they have an explanation I would love to hear one.

I started out as a kid with what would be the Model 105. simple lever action Daisy, but it was not the Red Ryder, because I was so jealous of my cousin who got one.. as I got older I got a Crosman Powermaster 66, then in my teens left those behind for PBs. wasn't til about a year ago I had some backyard pests that I just couldn't trap, so I started researching pellet guns... then the obsession started.. quickly... owned a Trail NP 1100 but wasn't accurate with it, then bought the .25 marauder and then the FX Bobcat .22. doesn't look like I'll be stopping there either:)
