Groundhog pesting

Thanks Guys! I was skeptical of a .25 being enough, but with the guns accuracy, it’s just about perfect.

I also was pushing too hard with the 33 grain MK2 heavies. It shoots them well enough, and they do hit a bit harder but it just shoots regular Kings tighter.

The gun is 100% out of the box with a standard smooth twist so maybe it will shoot the heavies better when I try out the X?

I have noticed the first shot or two after a full 230 bar fill sometimes have a slight pellet wobble. Perhaps it’s just a coincidence of a slightly “off” pellet but I’m going to fill to 220 the next couple times and see what happens.

The scope is a Hawke Sidewinder 6-24X50 FFP. I’m loving the first focal plane. Just adjust the field of view to what is comfortable and take the shot. The retical is crisp and has lots of size references for gauging holdovers when well off the main crosshairs. Wish the camera could pick up how nice it really is.

I will get better with the videos- just wanted to get this one up quick!

Thank you guys. I’m having some fun with it. We’re on 24 acres and about 16 is planted in soy beans.

We don’t farm it ourselves but the old timer who does is always complaining about these buggers. There is quite a population and I counted at least 30 new babies running around this spring. When they nearly took down my own vegetable garden in a few hours, it was game on. I’m winning the war right now!!

Starlings are always on the hit list along with the occasional over zealous squirrel. The one I wish I had on cam was sitting upright facing me. He was chewing the flesh off of golf ball size walnut. The shot hit the walnut square and blew it out of his hands and must have been diverted or the pellet stuck into the fleshy part of the walnut. He just stood there with his hands in front of him, looking around totally confused for like 10 seconds. I was laughing too hard to take a second shot and figured he deserved a pass for the day.

Ill make ale sure to film more of my pesting moving forward.
