    A budget scope is 500.00?

500.00 is a budget CAR where I come from.

    😂

The doctors and lawyers live on the other side of the hill from me, and I don't think any of them are into airguns.

Lol, don't bet on that 😄

This doctor is at least! Although I am a radiologist, so maybe not a real doctor anymore 😂

    Awesome list 👍🏻

Some of the pricing boggles my mind though. Just can't see a nightforce of any flavor commanding the same price as top end S&B, Kahles or Hensoldt, especially not in the US where they are based, at least from a business perspective.

Lol Fish a lot of them are just priced Under $500 it doesn't list prices till they get above that . Those are MSRP so not exactly" street" prices  . But still a great list

Yes, but aren’t FFPs scopes “overly hyped” up like some have said?😏 Wait! The bandwagon is taking off and I’m trying to jump on.😀

First focal plane is what I would call a "nice" feature. I would not call it an "essential" feature. It is amazing how much cost it seems to add!

In fairness I would argue that there are some nice FFP scopes that can be found well under $500, that are not mentioned on the list. Are the lenses as nice as a $4000 scope? Probably not, but how many hairs have to be split to bridge the gap between a quality $300 FFP scope, and a $4000 FFP scope?

Excellent resource, but read the requirements to make the list.  The list is designed for long range shooting, like a mile.

    • FFP
    • Minimum 14X magnification
    • 60 MOA adjustments

That last one will eliminate a lot of lower end, what we might call decent scopes.  Great starting point though.

I'm at that point where I need another scope, to put on another rifle.  The list will be a great starting point.
