[Graphic] Ground squirrel with .22 Cricket mini

Went hunting Saturday in Chino, CA at a pig farm Permission. Nick (socaloldman) got this permission with a Craigslist ad. Thanks Nick!!! And thanks Jose for allowing us to hunt on your farm! We had a great time, each of us got about 20 ground squirrels, a few rabbits, and in excess of 50 starlings. Many of our shots were off hand at 15 to 35 yards. The only photo worthy shot was this 54 yard eye shot with the .22 Cricket mini Carbine. Yeah, pretty gruesome but a direct eye hit with an 18.1 grain JSB with muzzle velocity of 855 FPS is rare (for me).

@glem.chally, no I was just listing about 30 fpe for the Cricket. The accuracy is dime size 5 shot groups at 45 yards. None of my guns "stack pellets" or "one hole" at 45 to 50 yards, nor have I seen anyone do that in person. Dime size is about as good as it gets, .30 FX Bobcat, .22 DS Renegade, .177 Brocock Bantam... Haven’t shot groups with the Mini longer than 45 yards. I almost always get head shots inside of 75 yards, but a direct eye shot doesn’t happen that often... just a comment, wasn’t meaning anything by the FPS on the pellet. For the Cricket mini I don’t think I can get much more out of it than that with the 15 inch barrel, and still get 45 to 50 shots per fill. We were shooting so many birds I had to fill the gun at least twice.. Glad I brought a couple hundred pellets.
