Got to wrap my hands around a Texan and a Hatson Hercules Today

We I had a lot of fun today, Me and Joe went to the Texas AirGun show and did a lot of salivating looking at all of the nice toys that we both knew our wives would never understand why we just had to have one more!!

Of course being in Arlington Air-Force stepped in and even had a Texan being given away as a door prize.... The little lady that won it is part of the Texas Hog Hunters, I kind of figured if she is mean enough to do that I did not want to try and take here winning ticket away so I am sure it will not be long before some texas hogs are going to have a real bad meet up with a Air-Force Texan.

Myself bigbore has always caught my eye and fancy so I did not waist any time getting to the range and sitting down in front of the Texan, I have to give credit due it may look like a plumbing job that a man did while on pcp (pun intended!) but it fits the body and is a beast down range. Thumping out 300 grain slugs with some major force with some amazing accuracy. I literally was aiming ear shots on the steel piggies down range and watched the paint get knocked off the ears. And Smooooooooth from cocking to safety to trigger pull the texan was it. The downside sat beside us, while all the other demos had scuba tanks sitting out for refills The Texan had a big 4 foot refill tank and it was being used a lot. The other downside That beast doesn't just talk it roars!!! I mean earplugs should be shipped with it. While not built or installed by AirFoce there was a Texan Sitting on the rack with a Suppressor installed. If you have ever seen the Texan you know they are long but that one felt like it was a mile long. But it did make a huge difference turning that roar down to a meow with no noticeable difference in accuracy (those little piggys ears must really be stinging)

Down the way sat the Hercules.... The first thing you think when you see this beasty is yep you almost need to be Hercules to lug it around. If I was to try and compare it with firearms think of walking into Gander Mountain looking down a line of AR15 based frames and sitting at the end is a Barrett 50 Cal that would be about the closest i could come to comparing the size of this monster to the others around it. Not only does it have the tank at the back but it has one in front too... they claim that you can put 72 9mm shots down range before ol Herc, starts complaining. At 75 yards I was head shooting steel ducks and with every shot watched the rounds dot the eye and cross the Tees.
My only real complaint is the cocking lever, It just does not feel well made. When you pull it back you feel a grinding sensation and there is not any feedback.. you really do not know when you are fully cocked and locked. That being said it does the JOB giving a good hard smack down range. But like the Barrett this beast is not a off hand shooter (unless you are Hercules) Weighing in at 13 hefty pounds. Soon to come to the U.S is a Hurc 45 Cal with 30 shots before refill and while I could not lock em down on full spects or dates the rep hinted at a 900 fps. One other thing Hatson has AirForce over the barrel on is while not a silent but deadly shooter it is much quieter than the Texan.
I did ask The AirForce reps about factory installed suppressors on the Texan and they said it was in the works with a bit of evil eye in the direction of the Hatson Table
