Got the Gauntlet back from Hajimoto

I sent my 22 cal Gauntlet to Haji for him to put his special "stank" on it. I got it back Friday and had a chance to scope and shoot at 35 yards and boy I can't miss at this distance. The trigger is nice and predictable, I have the 23ci bottle on mine so getting over 150 shots per fill. I didn't do a full string, I just checked the velocity after 15 magazine fills and it was still on the reg. He mods the stock so that I can make quick adjustments without removing the stock. I set mine to shoot the crosman 14.3 gr pellets at 885-895 fps. This is my backyard plinker to get plenty of trigger time when I don't go out to shoot and I must say it's a joy to shoot. I don't get opportunities to hunt or do pest control but if i did this would be perfect for the job. It shoots just about any pellet I tried great. For those that shoot FT I think it would serve that purpose great also.

Good numbers, and I agree that a rifle that will use cheap pellets is nice. We have a .177 set up to 1,100psi and it would indeed be an excellent FT rifle and the flat section on the bottom of the stock if flawless for the seated position. The Gauntlet as far as I know of is THE entry level FT rifle. Even in .22 tuned to sub 20fpe , or, with FT range master's permission - I took my 23fpe .22 squirrel rig to my first shoot- tuned how ever a person has one it will give folks a run for their money.

I made one final upgrade. DonnyFL had the short shrouds with the 1/2 x 20 UNF threaded end for $40 for his 4th of July sale. Since I already had a Neil Claque LDC I grabbed a shroud and teamed it with the LDC. My gauntlet is now the quietest gun I have ever heard. It actually sounds like firing a gun with no air. I thought something was wrong until I shot a couple of pellets over the chrony. The negative is that the NC LDC I have was made for a high powered 22 cal so it's over 8 inches long so I have to remove it for the gun to fit in any rifle case.

But the cool part is when you show up to the range open the case and screw on the LDC you will look like a professional hitman about to put in some work ;)
