Got my Hill EC3000

One of the reason I went with the EC 3000 was I seen videos of Hill company employees showing how to fix things like temp sensor and top end problems. Not the problems but the fact they took ownership of them and offered help in correcting them.

Well after I did my post at 4am on the 24th I decided to e-mail Hill about the warm power cord thing. They apparently do care about customer service because they replied at 7am. Resolution ongoing.

I did fill and shoot my bottle gun 7 times since the post and the cord never got warm.

The "rather small" water separator seems to be rather good at doing its job. It spits out a fair amount of moisture when the drain valve is opened. Along this same line if you let the unit set after it completes its fill it will start to decompress. This decompression is in the unit and fill whip only, It does not decompress the gun. I guess if you let it go long enough it may completely decompress. Don't think that would be a good thing because then when you open the drain valve it may not have enough pressure to blow out the accumulated moisture. .

Reread the manual about portability. It does say as I stated above but on the cover in very large bold letters it says: "EC3000 PORTABLE AIR COMPRESSOR."

shoot44, when my compressor decompresses it also begin decompressing my rifle until i disconnect it

I think that high compression compressors and engines are very much alike in that most damaged is done during a dead start when lubrication is at its lowest and there is compression in the cylinders. That is the reason that high compression race engines have compression releases on them. That stated I feel that the release before start up and at completion is just another brilliant asset of this compressor.
