I am not saying the Yong heng is bad it's just obviously not built up to the Quality of a unit 3 times the price.

In general, I agree. But the problem with that line of thinking seems to be that the Hill is AS YET unproven. And also that compressors such as the AV and the Hatsan Lightning, and others costing several multiples of the Yong Heng price, have had many problems noted on this forum. Where does the separation in price vs. value lie? My view is becoming more and more that either the true dive compressors (Alkin and that class) or the least expensive unit that can function and be serviced by an individual may be the best way to go since most everything between has been decried by many as "too problematic" or "not reliable" or "too complicated to rebuild". Certainly all just my opinion, but the compressors between Yong Heng cost range and dive compressor cost seem to have their own relatively high rate of failure. Determining the value point seems to be the hard part. I hope the Hill is all people want it to be and that all who have purchased one are well served by them.

As an aside, I used a Yong Heng with no issues for well over a year. It still works if needed. But I then purchased an MCH6 based compressor due to it's more robust engineering and perceived potential trouble free service (we'll see how that works out). It's certainly nice to just start the compressor and top off a large tank in just minutes. Not absolutely necessary, but nice. Hoping you have great service from the Hill.

All valid points. But you have to remember that hatsan pumps are just rebranded chinese compressors and the air venturis are also just imported and rebranded.

Yes, it seems most everything in the price range from YH to around $1500 fits that description. If the Hill proves reliable then it would seem to be a winner. But the if is still there as of now.

Has anyone seen or posted the fill rate of the Hill EC-3000 compressor? If my only two choices were between the Hill and the Yong Heng I'd opt for the Hill. However, I am skeptical of the statement that a Hill fills twice as fast as the Yong Heng. It's an apples and oranges comparison, but I'm interested to know more specifications about the Hill. Specifically, the fill rate and what type of piston ring seals are used in a Hill. The biggest compromise in Chinese compressors seems to be the lack of longevity in their ability to build pressure due to o-ring seal failure. Even the overpriced Omega compressor line uses rubber o-ring seals which wear out and are a nightmare to replace by the typical owner.
