Got my Crown Power kit- very disappointed

Whats your setting??

Did you back out your HSTA adjustment screw till no contact with the power wheel, with the hammer weight it has to much spring preloaded.

TP setting??

whats your max speed with .25 @ .30??

On the 25 cal I already had the reg at 150 and max hammer weight and was getting 882 fps with the 34 gr heavies. The velocity went up to 892 fps with the power wheel on min and 855 fps with the power wheel on max. The 30 was getting 870 fps and it went to 882 fps with 44 gr pellets

PK Adjustment Procedure:

1. Back off power adjustment screw D5 about 2-3 threads protruding, best to adjust when D4 is remove.

2. Reinstall HSTA and power wheel without stock on

3. Read speed on min on power wheel, adjuster power one setting at a time till speed level out if speed max out before max on the power wheel adjust D5 CW till max speed is on max on the wheel from there you can twick the speed more if not increase reg 10b and adjust D5.

Hey Black diesel let me know your max fpe with kit please when you sort out the adjustments , where did you get kit ? and what is in it ? from Ernest ? I would like to know total fpe in 25 and 30 cal and length of barrels , ? Also does the Huma regs help get more power then the Newest FX regulators >??

Also can you explain the mods like to transferport and block or just hammer spring and weight ? are you doing anything with valve ?

I'll just point out that I don't think the valve in the FX crown/impact is ported properly for a .30 cal, and barely enough for a .25 cal....this is just my opinion and not 'fact' one should take concretely...

I wouldn't call anything less than 85% bore porting a 'power kit'...and these .30 cals are probably not even 66% of bore porting...

Correct, there was an option for a dual brass TP and probe or enlarge TP. This power kit was mostly to over come the limited strength of the stock hammer spring of 155b. This kit was tested to 185b and can open 200b fully. There will be a full listing of custom parts for the crown and select what you need.

Ok I tried adjusting the hammer tension and I still didn't get any higher velocity of 882 fps. Here's what I did:

1. I started with the hammer spring set very low, just 2 threads showing.

2. With the stock off I added a little tension and shot a magazine.

3. I continued to add tension until the speed peaked at 882 fps.

4. I continued to add tension until speed dropped at max setting and peaked at level 4 and the still the highest velocity was 882 fps.

If the FX crown .30 cal has a 23.5" (600mm) barrel or greater I am severely disappointed in it myself...Should send 44 gr's @ 950+ fps with 80% bore porting and 150 bar....or .24" ports. FX just slaps a .30 cal barrel onto a .25 cal though.

But with .19" porting @ 150 bar and 23.5" barrel you get severely limited to roughly 900~ fps, I bet its safe to say the fx crown @ .30 cal is suffocating....JMO!

I would opt to do a custom valve seat/poppet that will allow at least 85% bore porting, for that on a .30 cal you need .255"~ porting from valve exit to pellet, and at the seat and throat you would need .29" with roughly .31" to .33" OD poppet to seal on the seat....thats with a 3mm valve stem. With that arrangement you'd make nearly 95 fpe on 44 gr and a 60 gr projectile would do over a touch over 900 fps for nearly 110 fpe...but that is just how I would go with my nearly 2,000$ airgun. With your spec thats not going to happen with the crown with out add plenum, sure on the impact 110fpe is already doable.

GL, with all your acutual testing how did you get 950fps 44g with the crown 600mm barrel, I’m not to old to learn yet
