Got me a night bunny

So I set out tonight to play and figure out the new ATN X, just testing, it was sitting on top of my .25 Cricket, and NOT sighted in. Was looking out to the left, making a bit of a racket, when I decided to pan center and what do I see, but a bunch of bunnies tearing at my Fig tree. No way I could take one with the Cricket, so I ran inside & got my .22 LGV, the only gun that has an IR scope. Grabbed my small green light and pointed in the right direction. Most where gone, but I caught a set of eyes shining back in the woods. I fixed on the back of the head and let it rip. I have not shot this gun in over a week or more, but there I could see the bunny flat on the ground as it took its last breath. It had taken a solid shot to the head/neck area with a 16gr Sovereign pellet.

Thanks y’all.

@Windmill01 I had popped a Chipmunk with it before. But, had been a bit frustrated trying to shoot squirrels. It was on target (paper) but I wounded a couple squirrels, so I had decided to tear it down and put in the Vortek, which I have not done yet.

@Papy_Yosh yeah, the KGC would have probably taken it’s head off at that distance. It’s set up for 62fpe!

@Bob_O will see, I’m slightly tech impared, and time is not my friend. I got a couple shorts on squirrels with the SideShot, but wanted a couple more to make at least 2-3 mins worth of video. What I really want to get with the X sight is a Hog.

Good story and great shooting! BTW......what kind of IR scope is on your LGV? I would love to do some night shooting like that.

Thanks for sharing.

TR: Thanks. By IR I meant Illuminated Reticle. It’s a Hawke 4-16 Airmax. The Infrared would be the ATN X on the Cricket, but I just sighted that one in today. It’s new to me and was not ready to shoot it last night.

After I posted, I realized IR was illuminated reticle...LOL! Still that was good shooting, especially at night. Good job brother!

Oh darn, that beast is shooting hot. are you shooting 33gr? That is a lot. Enjoy that destroyer ;)

I shoot both, 25s & 34s, but the 34s at about 910 fps yield the FPE. I don’t shoot it much as I don’t have that kind of range at home & very little time to get out.
