Forget it

I will never order pellets from Amazon again! I ordered a tin of JSB Exacts .177 8.44. Tin was dented on the bottom. Went through the pellets and discarded over a third of them. Skirts were so badly damaged that they could not be salvaged. Just received a shipment of the same pellets from Krale. Not a single tin dented.

Didn't realize there was so many haters.

Nothing against you at all. It's just that there are some of us that have been bitten by Amazon's packaging more than once.

Same here. We all can appreciate when somebody gives us a heads up on something available but Amazon has done the same thing to me a couple times. They are known for putting a item in a bigger box without any cushion or padding of any kind and the item is just able to bounce around in a box. My pellets were all over the place inside the box and had to fish them all out. And the other item I bought was a reddot Sight that luckily from all the bouncing around inside wasn’t damaged. It’s like they don’t have any common sense on how to package things. Nothing personal to the OP at all.

Question: Are the pellets ordered through Amazon actually shipped/fulfilled by Amazon or a third party?

A lot of items sold on Amazon are not shipped/fulfilled by Amazon, but are sold/shipped/fulfilled by third party vendors who use Amazon as a host to sell their products.

I am not defending Amazon, although I do purchase items through Amazon.

The point I am getting at is in the details. Who are you actually buying from when you purchase something via Amazon?

The same goes for buying online from Walmart and many other online sites.

I have had good and bad experiences with all of them. caveat emptor!

I've never bought pellets through Amazon, so I don't know if they are all packaged at Amazon fulfillment centers or not. Amazon is an amazing company, and does a world class job in mass logistics. Packing and shipping custom products for a high end precision market is not its focus. I'm sure their pellet shipping has been disappointing for you folks reporting problems. If I went in Walmart and asked to see their Perazzi shotguns, or Anschutz rifles, I expect I'd get very little response. So I don't go there for that purpose. If you buy pellets from Amazon, expect timely shipping......only. They're gonna throw them in a box, and then throw the box on a truck.

I agree, but my point was that many times things ordered using Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) are not being sold/packed/shipped/etc by Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...). They are being sold/packed/shipped/etc by third party companies who use Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) as their "store front" or "a" store front. So, Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) is, in some ways, like a flea market in that they provide the forum and many vendors/sellers use that forum to sell their wares.

There have been a few times where I ordered something via Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) and did not really look closely at who I was actually buying from. Most of the time everything has gone fine. Most of the time...

However, before you click that button to buy something from Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) or any other online sales entity, make sure to check who you are actually buying from and who is responsible for packing/shipping/fulfilling the order. In many cases, Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) is not the actual seller and does not pack/ship/fulfill the order. It is a third party using the Amazon (Walmart, eBay, etc...) market forum as a sales front. Nothing wrong with that, but consistency and quality does vary. That's all I am saying. (smile)
