Good but Small Shop Comp. 4 Booster?

And I say I'm good looking. Go figure. Hopefully they will have long usable life spans. Don't know for sure but I'm trying the HF version. CAT didn't impress me with build quality compared to the HF when I looked at both.

Generally I look at HF tools as a "1 job" tool. If I get more out of it that's great, if not I know I'm buying cheap. Never had ne of their compressors but pretty sure the Fortress is a "knock off" of the CAT. Based on the 90 day HF warranty vs the 1 YR Cat warranty I went with the CAT. To each his own.

As you note, to each his own. I've bought several hand tools and small items from HF but the Fortress compressor is the first powered item I've tried. I would note that HF gives the option of extended warranty for 1 OR 2 years on the compressor-I did not purchase that. From what I understand, the cost of similarly spec'd HF and CAT compressors with each having the 1 year warranty is pretty close with the HF about $20 higher and something like another $50 for the 2 year warranty. Again, this is just from what I've read since I didn't buy the extended warranty so anyone interested should verify this with HF. Seems the CAT comes with 1 year "limited" warranty standard but as the only option. There are a couple of direct comparison videos that people can google. Much like many things, all relative.
