Golf bal challenge, 150 meter with a springer airgun

Hi guys!

2 years ago I bought meself a .22cal HW97K for the 100 meter competition in my country, The Netherlands.

My friend Leo was willing to tune some parts to make shooting some easier.

He went beyond borders an created the LB22.

It gives a 23 joule and it needs a hold over mount with 45 MOA to keep the scope in the center of adjustment at the 100 meter.

It is a consistent shooting springer air rifle and it gives the .17 cal's a hard time.

A couple of weeks ago I was sighting in The Leupold 25X40 for a coming match at a steel plate, hanging on ti-ribs.

It was at 105 meter and for fun I tried to shoot the ti-ribs:

Well, that was not that difficult.

Than I found a topic at AGN about some golf ball challenge: https://www.airgunna...ball-challenge/

Minimum distance 150 meter, now that is a long way!

Chairgun says at 150 meter: 112m/s, 6,5 Joule.

The drop is enormes, with some calculation I discovered that I needed a mount with 100 MOA hold over..

The mount was made and the sighting in began.

I have a tape measure of 100 meter, I set the distance at 152,30 meter

It was a semi open track, the buildings are just not longer than 85 meter.

The steel plate behind the ball is about 30 x 40 cm, after some practice I did not mis it anymore.

Now that was hopefull.

I had to vid every shot, just in case one of them hit the target.

And then, after 32 shots:

A great reward for all the work.

Regards, Robert.

Great shooting. Nice to see an hw97k getting the job done at long distance.

R

Sorry R, but this is no HW97k anymore. This one is specially rebuild for long distance shooting.

As I wrote under this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zLKblzTWZ-M :

"The LB22 is a ex-HW97 that is totally changed:

+23Joules, BSA .22 barrel in center of cilinder, short stroke, very light piston, modified spring characteristic, no transferport at all. Even the trigger is modified."

Everything that really matters in a springer has changed.

This airrifle went from a tearful 45% efficiency to more than 80%. That's one of the reasons why it barely moves.

So don't run to the shop for a HW97 in .22, because that German scrap has almost nothing to do with this rifle.?

ATB, Leo.
