Golden Eagle HD 15-60X52 for Benchrest

Hey All

So, I just purchased a used Golden Eagle HD 15-60x52 scope. Wasn’t in the market for a scope but I got it in new condition for $1100 Canadian from a friend. (Never mounted.)

So, I am happy with both my long-range guns optics so I won’t be using it on a powder burner. (Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x56 on both my Tikka Tac A1 and Barrett MRAD.) It has way too much magnification and is physically too large for hunting.

I have a new Daystate Rosso Red Wolf but am wondering if it will be overkill... Parallax goes down to 15 Yards so I’m ok there, but I’m worried the magnification and overall Vortex construction will be overkill.

As I'm new to Airgun Benchrest, is 15-60x overkill? Any thoughts are appreciated.

I don't think you can ever have too good of a scope on any upper tier gun, provided you don't remortgage your house to get it ?

That mag is huge, but as mmahoney said you can always dial down a bit if you want. I know a number of people with March 8-80x scopes for benchrest and field target and they love it. You'll be able to really focus in and get rid of parallax at 60x too, then dial the mag down to shoot. Perfect for benchrest.
