Glass equal or better than gun?

I've had night force and other very high end scopes and have sold them because I just did not feel that the price was justified for the type of shooting I do. You need a GOOD scope but do you need to spend $1500 or more ? I think not. I like the NIKON scopes with the BDC reticles for my varmint rifles and I've been buying them used on eBay for under $300. Not necessarily what you might want for the air rifle but the difference in cost on this stuff is exponential. A scope twice as good costs ten times as much. I've got a $200 scope on my Daystate Red Wolf and while I'd probably want better if I was shooting in competition for what I am doing its fine. Cheap air rifles are inaccurate and have the worst triggers I've ever encountered but the difference between a good scope and a GREAT one is for me questionable.

I'd spend the money on the gun
