Getting the Most Out of Your Forum

Just wanted to put out a word of thanks to all here. I've frequented several forum for a lot of years and for whatever reason didnt give this one much of a look. Mistake on my part because not only have I found friends from other forums, but have made new ones in the short time I've been here.

The willingness to help here is overwhelming and and the atmosphere one where that anyone should feel comfortable.

I recall when I got a wild hair to build a burning laser. I did end up building one really that was really cool, but I knew nothing of lasers. I went on a forum and posted asking some questions. Mind you, I had tried to search, but I didnt even know what to look for and the amount of information was ridiculous. Of course, I was met with 'Google is your friend' and 'use search'. Kinda soured me on the whole deal and so I've tried to be as patient as I can with new airgunners coming seeking knowledge. Often, they dont even know what to look for. I've found no such 'high hatting' (for those of yall from the South) here and that's quite refreshing.

Moderators and Admins can break a forum, but it's only the MEMBERS who can MAKE a forum. So thanks to all for posting and making this place what it is! I see no evidence of moderators breaking this place. The rules are few, common sense and easy far as I can tell, so with the crew I've seen over the last couple days, I see no reason why cant be 'THE' place to go on the 'net for all things airgunning!

Good to have you here Rob. Your Cricket pup is the first one I ever held in my hands at the 2nd annual NC Airgun show in 2014.

I enjoyed visiting your booth the most and I thank you for being so kind as to let me shoulder that bad boy! I still have a .22 Cricket pup and a Colibri in my small collection.

I recall that, sir!! That particular pup left my stable so I could get a Colibri. I miss it dearly, too. I ended up getting another compact, this time in .177, but dont have the skeleton stock. One day I'll get one for it. Just think those are sexy looking stocks!

The show keeps getting better and better. Nowadays I just hand folks a tin and tell them to go out back and fire away, where we keep targets set up. You should come back this year!

Yes sir those skeleton stocks are sweet lookin'. I like the mag holders in the standard stock as well.

My two Kalibrguns are my only .22 guns as well as my only pups.

Got an FX Boss and an FX 500 to cover the .30 & .25 cal fun.

Then a couple of .177's in my Logun Solo and my Thomas.

That's pretty much it for me. It's hard enough to give those six the individual attention they need! I'm finally getting a grip on this addiction! Scared to go to the Airgun show, because I might break down and buy something! LOL

This is a great forum. But I’ve been blessed to be part of some great forums and haven’t yet been part of a bad one. Cut my teeth on a Concours motorcycle forum years ago, then to a Goldwing forum. Both were helpful in maintaining and making home made improvements, or what we call “farkles”. Techniques on cornering or long distance riding. This ranks up there. I farkled my Steyr’s trigger with instructions on how to install a weaker trigger spring. Forums, to me, are one of the good reasons for the internet.

I remember seeing your posts on other airgun forums. I stopped visiting the other urine colored forum when they changed names and blatantly copied Airgun Nation's layout. I love how there's always something new here. Whether it's a sponsor, a feature or a topic, this is the place to be and that's why I call it home. Have you seen the new Universal Calendar? That's some selfless outward thinking stuff right there!
