Getting My 22 Cal Hatsan AT44s 10 Long Ready ;- )

I had pulled the scope off of it to put on my Condor ;- ) Now I pulled a UTG 3-12 x 44 30mm AO Mil Dot off a Hatsan 125 to put on the AT44s !!

Had Weaver rings but they don't fit well, so I'll be putting on a set of UTG 30MM 11mm rings tomorrow ! Will be shooting her for the first time this weekend. Looking forward to ~875 fps with JSB Diabolo Jumbo Heavies (18.1gr) or maybe Kodiaks (21.1gr) ..... don't know what these guns are capable of ?

Being my Condor is such a heavy hitter, the Hatsan AT44s could be my starling smasher bird gun , I don't see myself using this gun for GS, Jacks or ? when the Condor is such a monster. Since I would only use pellets, the maximum range is well within the nearby ranch houses so I'm safe with 30 deg angle shots. The QE design is a big plus for keeping the noise down too.

Would like to know how other guys like their 44's and what pellet they are using and what velocity they are getting ?

Thanks guys.

When I had mine in stock condition it shot the 18 gr pellets in the high 900 fps, around 970 fps at the highest. I had a lot of mods done, valve mod, barrel crown, trigger (13 oz), transfer port opened) to it and had to drop a regulator in to get the speed down. After all the mods I had it shooting the JSB 18 gr pellets @ 895 fps for 40 shots with a 3200 psi fill. I traded it for a high end gun not too long ago. I really like the action of the AT44s. I still have a 25 cal long and 25 cal short.

Perfect, just what I wanted to know, I'm going to try to get some kind of bell curve and get maybe 20 shots if I'm lucky, hoping in the 875fps, enough energy (~17 fpe) for 75 yds starlings and pigeons for sure.

I don't plan on any custom mods, a decent bell curve will be fine for me. Even if I get 15 good shots I'll be happy with that ... it has been YEARS and YEARS since I have had 15 serious hunting shots in a day ! .... I could always buy an extra tank too ;- )

Just got a new .22 at44 QE short a couple weeks ago.

Very impressive overall package. Great accuracy and very quiet. Straight out of the box, mine shot the JSB 18s at 850. I get about 30 consistent shots before I notice any POI shift at 20 yards. I have not yet run a full crony string.

This will be a hunter and 30ish good shots is plenty for my needs.

I have a regulator, but will leave it alone for awhile.

My only whinge is the stock. It is narrow at the cheekrest and feels cheap.

But when you consider the whole package, the at44 is a winner.

I took my gun out and finally got a calm morning before work ... with the little bit of testing I did, she should get 20 shots shooting 21.1gr Kodiaks in the 935 fps average area, at 150 bar she was getting 910 fps and it was there I stopped.

Had enough time to get her on a target, but not enough to settle down and see how she groups, With the little bit of shooting I did, I think she will group fine. I'm hoping I can find the stuff I need to fill her up and test her out this week end ... I can't find the adapters I need, so I ordered more but they are back ordered ;- )

I plan on starting her out at about 2900+ psi and see how long till she drops to 910 fps. I REALLY hope to get 20 shots, but if I only get 15, that still is OK for a hunting gun ... I don't think I have had 15 serious hunting shots in an morning or afternoon day outing in my lifetime... I do though have 14CF bottle I keep in the truck for about 10 fill ups on this gun when I hit a low of 150 Bar.
