Getting caught up

Well, a few things have happened in the last month or so here in the ol' man cave. Got the Striker 95 conversion closer to done. Got the drill press, DP vice and all, but wrong wing nuts to tie down the vice with to finish the machining on the Striker 95.

And won a new/damaged box Hatsan Edge .25 vortex on the eBay auctions. Dropped it in the 1000x stock with a new Centerpoint 3-9x40AO scope that came with the GuideHawk NP.

And together, " The Sisters"

I also won, on eBay auctions, A Crosman 73 Saddle Pal and 2 vintage Super Pell canisters;

I'm waiting for the vintage canisters and Saddle Pal Co2 rifle to arrive Friday at the earliest.

Glad y'all enjoyin' it. The 73 Saddle Pal came in today, a couple hours ago now. Was literally jammed in the box with so much packing paper stove-piped in there. Built from 1976-1983, this one was built 10/77. The 4th Crosman Co2 rifle going into my collection. Aside from a couple scratches, it looks to be in VGC for the $79 I paid for it on eBay auctions. It's about the same size as my 760 Powermaster variant 1.

Well, being a quiet Sunday, I finally got to cleaning up the Edge 1000x hybrid. Bore was filthy black with the usual used motor oil, " rust preventive". But a .22 spear tip jag on my Dewey cleaning rod and some Brownell's 1 3/8" woven patches and she was clean after running a phosphor/bronze brush through first.

The 4 larger patches were from a Rem-Oil rub down outside. I couldn't get it to cock before working the barrel up-n-down a bit, then started cleaning the bore. I guess the Rem-Oil runnin' down that latch unstuck something? Gettin' that done, I test fired it 4 times with H&N FTT 19.91gr pellets, the lightest I use in my other .25cals. Wife went shopping, and supposed to get the right size wing nuts for the drill press vice. And some acetone to get the oil & such outta the 95 stock to finish that up.

So, the Edge 1000x is, I'd say, medium-loud with the lighter pellets. But has a respectable recoil to it. Sharp & quick, but not too bad. About average for a .25cal I think? Shes all ready to go, so I'll be getting to the Striker 95 again soon. I also had to order a seal kit from Baker's for the 73 Saddle Pal. The Co2 leaks out at the piercing point. It'll fire while it's leaking out anyway. I think the gas valve is sticky and the piercing seal is gone.
