Get Rid of Those Sissy PCP Air Rifles!!!!!!!

A life long friend that I have shot varmint rifles with since I was 13 on his ranch of more than 7 thousand acres in the cal foothills, just did not understand what I was doing buying 8 PCP air rifles. I have only been in this less than a year and in that time he refused to come over and shoot them. Today I took him to breakfast and from there to my backyard range. LOL. Long story short 4 hours later, 20, 5 target splatterburst targets, and more fun than I have had in a long time. He had shot all my rifles and was just blown away with how much fun they are. Ha ha ha, he is buying the steak dinners this weekend.

So tonight he is ordering 2 FX Crowns, 1 Huben, 1 Vulcan tact 2. LOL He is ordering a compressor, Tanks, etc. So much for sissy air rifles.

Taylor is going to rig up 2 moving targets on a continuous loop. We had a little shooting match and its almost impossible to tell who shot the tightest group, because we would shoot complete magazines. However moving targets are a different story, it will be entertaining.

In just 4 hours Taylor is one of us. Hope he joins us on here!!

Many of my cleints told me, that after buying PCP they forget about their powder guns and hunt only with the PCP.

I'm in this category now too. I still do not think that even a fraction of the powder guys know / comprehend PCPs in general. It does make for awkward conversations in gun shop, where I'm always asked "so which rifle are you going to mount this scope on?". They look at me like I'm crazy for putting a $3K scope on an "air gun"..

I am one of those who have basically set aside my powder burners in favor of my airguns. And I have some nice PBs.

About disposable income!!!!

The way I explain it. We are converting one asset into another. An asset which will increase your experiences as you move thru life. An asset which will convert TV time into a constructive and interesting hobby. A hobby that will take you to the forums to learn even more, and get even more involved. Best of all we can all convert this PCP asset back to a spendable asset when ever we wish. All this can be done with a minimum of pain.

When thought of this way I don't see how any wife could find this objectionable.

Fred, I am trying to figure out if you are a PCP missionary, converting those to your faith, or a PCP candyman getting those hooked on your product 😁,LOL. I have got a few friends hooked , but none of them ordered 4 guns at one time. You did good. WOW, 7000 acres that is a county where I live.

Edgun & Elbowgrease, same here. I was a PB Rimfire nut, think I had close to 50 rimfires & now I don't believe I have more than 6 around here & never shoot them.

Whoa! 4 high end air rifles, compressor, bottle, etc. right off the bat. I with I had that type of money. It must be nice. Whatever happed to buying a magnum springer to start with, downgrading to a better springer, sampling the PCP water with a budget level PCP then jumping in with both feet?

cea1960: You are right on. Stay away......

Edgun: I totally agree, I do 99% of my shooting and hunting with air rifles. I'll pull the .204 out each spring for a couple ground squirrel trips but that's about it.

mtnGhost & others: I agree that PB guys don't know about, and it turn think air rifles are toys. I think they think I'm nuts spending $2k on an air rifle and $700 on a scope for it.
