Gauntlet Sear Trigger Spring

Hey RidinLou, Umarex has a trigger assembly problem and more. The trigger assembly was replaced a few months ago by them and of course I paid $45 freight to get it there. Here is a list of problems with the gauntlet.

1.Cocking bolt fell out and I returned the gun. 2. Air escaping from breech and I returned the gun. 3. Gun would not cock and I returned the gun. 4.. Cocking bolt fell out again and I repaired the gun. 5. Today, the gun will not cock due to a broken sear spring. And there you have it. The on going saga of a air rifle that has given me fits and cost me $135 - $150 in freight and probably more to come.

it is not a compression spring, it is a torsion spring and you make one or buy a factory spring and that is why a posted the parts diagram

the thing about torsion springs is they can be made from smaller diameter wire but getting all the right angles can be a challenge

that spring doesn't look that hard, buy 2 or 3 new springs check the wire size, reduce it 30% and by some wire and try, the worst thing that can happen is you will fail but you can't fail unless you try and it doesn't have to be perfect just has to work

this hobby is more then just shooting, I feel it about learning about your rifles and pistols, fixing them, improving them, caring for them and growing your knowledge and confidence

but I'm a 69 year old man that was washing auto parts for my dad in a cut down 5 gal lacquer can with gasoline in at 7 or 8

Hey Airgunners, thanks for all your replies and my problem is solved. Mike Melick the owner of Flying Dragon Air Rifles is sending me three sear springs. I have one of his fully tuned springers that is a gem and so is Mike. What a great guy to have in our air gun community. I highly recommend you check out his web site. Great air guns and great prices with Mike's touch of expertise.

Thanks again airgunners.
