Hello all, I haven't been on this site in over a year, back when I had a Crossman .22 break bbl. I (unfortunately) live on an HOA controlled gated neighborhood, oddly enough there is NO gate. Just one way in and out. I am telling this so you will understand my "problem" and I would be grateful for any and all comments. The Crosman SS break bbl.22 I had was as loud as a ,22 short out of a rifle. Many complaints from the HOA and 3-4 visits from the "LEO's" asking if I was firing a gun in my 6ft high privacy fenced back yard. I showed the pellet gun to them and it is "legal to fire" in my area. I sold it last year and just in the past 2 weeks after watching many videos and reading many reviews I bought a " Gamo Swarm Whisper Air Rifle, .22". It will arrive today. I have several dozen "firearms" but still love the air guns. I started with a "Crosman Mdl 140 .22 "pump up" in 1963 (yeah, I'm an Old Codger, 67)I am in SW Fla. and 1 mile to the beach (about 80 miles south of Tampa). but I have a big jungle and a 3-4 acre lake/pond behind my fence and tons of "critters" including "gators" Which I would Never shoot. In Fla. it is an automatic "25 yrs in the 'lectric chair" for molesting/bothering any gator(lol).I am wondering if I made the right decision on my purchase, "quiter, better accuracy ect.(the crosman was just "OK" 2"+ groups at best @100ft/30 yds. approximately) I know there are many experts here and I enjoy reading the posts. Secondly, is the scope that comes with the gun "junk" or is it decent? I have a Simmons fixed power 6X44 off a .22 rifle and I wonder if it will work on a "springer air gun"? I have read that springer guns will trash a regular scope. And thanks for reading this long post. Just looking for knowledge from you guys that really know their air guns. I am well versed on firearms, but I know "Pneumatics" are an entirely different creature. Thanks in advance, and everyone have a great day! WALI...
 
My whisper was still quite loud. Mostly the action (piston slap) and then the pellet careening thru the air at over 900fps. Not so much muzzle report. So, might be fine. 

For ultimate quietness in break barrel would go with a 177 hw30 urban. 

Projectile impact downrange can be a bit much in larger calibers, but might be fine for you as well.

Thanks for the reply. I am a serious "NON~FAN OF .177 anything. I am an old geezer, lol and I am staying within my budget. I think this "Gammo" will do what I want.(hopefully) My wife of 40+ years would wrap it around my neck if I buy another one. She already calls my shop "The Warehouse" because of the guns, safes, ammo, 7-8 large tackle boxes and lures everywhere, dozens of rod's and reels plus the tons of scope's, mounts & bases, Knives, AR & AK and shotgun, rifle, parts and pieces, and hundreds of other items and many tools and a dozen+ or so Deer mounts. But this was collected over 55-60 year period. In short this is my lifetime collection including my vintage stereo system, computer with 2 screens, 42 inch flat screen, 2-300DVD's, 500+ CD's and much more. I an VERY FAR from being rich. SS and some small investments are my only income (less than you would think). But it took my WHOLE life to acquire all this stuff. But she insisted I sell my "ZX-11 NINJA when I turned 62, but I had to agree with her, as it is far too dangerous to ride a bike here in Fla and I tend to ride fast and very aggressively. Too many "tourist's" and too many 90+ Yr old drivers who kill around 3 bike riders a month in my county
So in a sense I am rich cause I have all the toys I want in my "twilight years". The problem is my mind is still 25, and my body feels 96. LOL...and I have a bunch of leftist "nazis" from the northeast as neighbors who moved here and brought their crappy politics with them. That is why most of my time is spent on gunsight's of all kind. Haha, sound a bit like myself. Aside from managing to avoid getting a bike as of yet (still only 33yrs old) But have had a number of fast cars, and never drove them slow. 

I've heard a lot of great reviews on the swarm, so I have no doubt you'll like it. I would advise getting a grt4 trigger for it if you can. Ordering process is a bit funky (think you have to mail a check in first?) But totaly worth it.

The gamo whisper fusion in .22 is great and fairly quiet. I've read so many reviews on the pellet mags malfunctioning and break that it steared me away from the swarms. The hw30 urban pro is very very quiet. I don't anyone would hear anything from 10' away, but much less power. So depending on your needs. Games cheaper and more powerful but the hw30 urban is far superior in everything else.
