Gamo Replay 10 upgrade(10 J)

Hi I am new to this site. But I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my Gamo Replay 10-(10 Joule) velocity version, Up to the standard 24 Joule velocity version? To me everything seems the same in terms of base hardware, but something has been changed to reduce the velocity from 24 J down to 10 J. I would greatly appreciate your help with the upgrade required please. Best Regards, Gamotech00

Hi,

Sorry for the late reply, The name of these air rifles depends upon location of country and marketing to suit. In the US they go as the Swarn. In Europe they go as Replay 10.

These are the same rifles exact. They can both be had in IGT gas ram or spring piston for the mediun to full power versions 17j- 24j. The velocity is set by Law and legislation depending on the country and or province.

All the low to mid power models are spring powered. Every version from 10j-24j have the same pistons. Then There is a 7joule version that has a hole machined in the piston crown to reduce compression and velocity.

If you are ordering a gas ram then you would be going for the ATS plastic trigger option to suit. Last time I spoke with customairseals they had developed a Replay 10-Swarm specific gas ram with lower nitrogen gas pressure. These where designed because some of the losser fitting pellets tend move forward in the magazine and cause problems from the recoil.

Hope this helps you for reference.

Hi,

What you need to do is purchase the Gamo/ High power spring kit, part number: (16090). Here is a link from the the cheapest supplier in Europe: https://www.mundilar.net/en/replacement-parts-rifles/air-rifles-gamo-replacement-parts/gamo-main-spring-pack-high-power.html

It look's like they may be temporarily out of stock from this link above. I am not sure how much of a hurry you are in?

Also there is this place and link which sell the 24 Joule spring alone: https://www.airgunseurope.com/catalog/product/view/id/3818/s/gammo-spring-24-joule/category/441/ You could get away with just a spring change if your gun is still new. Just leave the piston in the cylinder and remove and replace the spring alone so that you do not damage the piston seal with the re-fit, Original Gamo seals are made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) which are prone to damage easy even from the factory installation.

But personally I would go and change out the spring and piston seal at the same time and opt for a Urethane type piston seal and better quality spring material which can be found from here as a kit: https://www.customairseals.com/product/gamo-spring-and-seal-deal/ Also check out this other supplier for Gamo 25mm receiver parts like the piston seal, and high power spring from Target Tune India: https://target-tune.in/international/products.php?product=High-Performance-seal-for-GAMO-or-25mm-receiver and https://target-tune.in/international/products.php?product=GAMO--FULL-POWER-Spring They also have tuning kits available with high speed pistons also, just scroll down the page from the two link's above.

You should be able to find what you want! And if you have any questions do not hesitate to ask me for help and or advice.

kind regards,

Hi!

I'm pretty new to the world of air rifles,so what do you recommend me to buy as best quality as possible?,as long as I reach the standar 24J, I'm happy.,and of course

If im going to change the spring, its always the best to change the piston seal at the same time.

Is it difficult to change it?.

Thanks so much for the answer, it is appreciated!

Thanks

Hi Bato,

I just want to ask you were in Europe are you located?

I personally I would go with the GAMO ATS SAT TRIGGER GAS RAM KIT from here https://www.customairseals.com/product/gamo-ats-sat-trigger-gas-ram-kit/ Because you will get the 24+ Joules you are looking for. Just buy a piston seal along with the gas ram, here are two choices of seal https://www.customairseals.com/product/gamo-25mm-eco-seal/ and https://www.customairseals.com/product/gamo-25mm-power-seal/. Or there is this Gamo main spring and seal deal https://www.customairseals.com/product/gamo-spring-and-seal-deal/ free international shipping is provided.

Replacing the piston seal is a pretty straight forward procedure, Especially if you are replacing with a Urethane type piston seal. Clean the piston inside and out then you just apply a tiny amount of lube on the back and inside of the seal. Also on the retaining tab of the piston and push(seat) in place clean any excess lube off the face of the seal with a lint free rag and that is it. A good idea or must do is to de-burr the cocking slot inside the receiver(remove the sharp edge) that will damage the piston seal. Do the outside while your at it. Clean out the receiver with clean lint free rags. To get into the receiver get a rod and tape the rag to it so you can turn it inside and remove it easily. Re-lube everything very lightly using a artist paint brush except for the face of the piston seal where 1-2 drops of silicone oil will be used. Re-assemble every thing very carefully.
