Here are a PCP airgun beginner's questions -
1. Does the MK1 fill probe stay attached to the air tube all the time or is it a separate piece that must be attached/inserted only when filling the air tube with air?
2. Does the MK1 fill probe connect directly to a female foster fitting on the end of a compressed air tank's hose?

Thank you in advance for your response.

There is another option :

"Biagio26"Most of the new FX guns come with a male Foster fitting. All you need is a hose and a female Foster fitting to charge her up.

I wonder if you can convert the Wildcat's MK1 probe arrangement to a male foster fitting, and do so without voiding the warranty? (BTW, is the fill probe arrangement desired in Europe? Why is it on the brand-spanking new Wildcat? It couldn't be a weight thing - my 2.7 lb. P-rod has a male foster fitting.)

Fill probes are pretty common on "tube" guns, foster fittings are more common on "bottle" guns. I would venture to say that modifying the air tube in such a way would void your warranty.

Okay, thanks Michael. I'm just trying to understand why the new WC has the fill probe when my P-rod tube gun has a convenient foster fitting. It was my understanding from the FX Airguns website news announcement that the WC was built on the "success and knowledge" of the Bobcat series.

l will be buying a WC and will deal with the fill probe arrangement like all the other WC owners.

"ahobie17"From FX page on Facebook, I don't know who the poster is, but hopefully accurate.
