We were lucky enough to get in a few of the brand new FX Wildcat MKII’s in stock this last week! This isn’t a full in depth review, just a quick range day to shoot a few groups and give our initial thoughts on the new gun:

The updated Wildcat MKII now comes with the X system and comes with the Smooth Twist barrel liner. It also is about a 1/2 lb. lighter. We do have a limited number left in .25 caliber so please give us a shout if you are looking for something new!

    Happy Holidays!

This video and post was made before FX made any official announcements regarding the MKII, we apologize for the lack of info. We were lucky to get one early and this was nothing more than our initial thoughts, not a detailed review (that will be coming when barrels and liners are made available). FX has since released detailed information on the Wildcat MKII along with the MKII Compact and X-Barrel options on AGN. We are happy to answer any questions you may have!

    Thank you!

I’m interested since you say you have a limited number left in .25 caliber, but would like to know the fps and fpe shooting kings . And shot count and fill pressure.

When this was posted about a month ago we did have a small limited number of .25 caliber, we have more  in stock now though! With the Smooth Twist liner they have been actually shooting just a tiny bit hotter than the MKI on average out of the box (905-910 FPS) with the 25.39 gr King JSB. That would be around 46 ft/lb. The barrel upgrade options and MKII Compact aren’t quite out yet so our testing is pretty limited.

    Thanks!

Are the x barrels on the mk ll interchangeable with the Impact and or the Crown?

I heard the smooth twist X barrel could be used between crown, impact, and wildcat. Hoping they bring along the X barrel for the streamline, swapping cal. would be cool.

    Hey Brian,
Yes, that has been confirmed that they will be interchangeable. We did put some Crown barrels in Impacts this week, we did have to remove the Shroud and replace it with the Impact one.

    Thanks!

    Hi Pingsmacker,
We are currently taking pre-orders on the Wildcat Compact MKII and they should be available in the next month or so. FX did bring one by for us last week, so we will be posting a review here in the next week or so. We are currently taking pre-orders on the Compact at:

Please let us know of any other questions.

    Thank you!

    Hey Mike,
Yes, for sure! Please give us a call and we can put your preferred dip down. It would probably add another week or so after the first batch come in.

    Thanks!

I am very excited about these! I need to sell my wildcat mk1 first though. I am glad to see this are out and available. Anyone here have a MK1 and a MK2? Huge difference?

I would like to know why the “compact” is advertised at 4.5 inches longer than the standard Wildcat?  It has the same barrel length.  Doesn’t sound compact to me.  It looks like the only other difference is the rail type,(Weaver or dovetail), which is a mox nix.

    Hi Steve,
There are now 3 options for the Wildcat MKII:

    -Wildcat MKII .22 caliber
    -Wildcat MKII .25 caliber
-Wildcat MKII Compact .25 caliber (Picatinny top/bottom rails & moderator).

The Compact is the same length as the .22 Wildcat, but in .25 caliber, which is the huge advantage. Please let us know of any questions! We posted up a video on our YouTube channel with our initial thoughts on the Compact.
