FX Wildcat MK2 .30 crazy velocity drop!!! ***FIXED***

Hey guys,

So I have a FX Wildcat MK2 in .30 cal. I have had the gun about 2 months and have put about 2000 pellets through it so far. I had a POI issue and a mag popping out issue which I have fixed. Now I was shooting the gun this past weekend and noticed a crazy change in my POI and the gun sounded different/weak. I don't have a chronograph yet so I used a ballistic calculator and my reticle to get a general range of velocity which is coming in at about 575 FPS. BOGUS! So my gut is telling me that I have an o ring problem somewhere but being new to pcp air guns and my Wildcat being new I don't want to void my warranty. I hate the thought of sending my gun to FX for a 2 month turn around and dealing with shipping etc. What should I do!?!?!?

FEELING FRUSTRATED.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that right before all this BS started the gun produced some smoke or mist out of the barrel for a few shots for what that is worth...

Almost anything you do to your gun voids the three year warranty and they can tell if you have messed around with it. The warranty may not be a big deal to you now but it might be something you wish you had someday later on. So you are down to one good option which is to ship it to FXUSA and let Ernest strip it down and rebuild it for you...unless you don't care about voiding your warranty in which case you do have other options.

Just a thought... Noticeable "Mist" suggests you have water in your air. Are you using an Air Dryer with your Yong Heng compressor ?

It's a fx thing. Idk why they sell gun so expensive but have so many problems with them. Like lame cheap inaccurate gauge, reg creep, cocking pin breaking, probe coming loose or bolt holding probe break off, trigger sticking on 2nd stage and doesn't reset, low speed due to using o rings as bumper stop, leaking air. These are just some problem with fx guns in general. One who spend $1500-2000 on a gun expecting it to be their perfect gun. This isn't the case with fx guns. I do not own a wildcat but my impact drop speed from 900fps to 600fps. It was due to the c3 o ring. Replace it with a better delrin ring and now its shooting back in the 900s. I think in the wildcat there is a c3 ring somewhere. Might be the same issue.

Yes I am using two filters with my compressor. One is has the cotton tube and the other has a combination of cotton tube and desicant beads. I thought the same thing GRITCH but it only did it for 3 or 4 shots. Not sure though. It could still be water I guess. What would the side effects be? I'm certain something internal has failed. I am struggling with the option of sending the gun to FX USA for warranty repairs or trying to figure it out on my own. If I dig into the gun it will void the 3 year warranty and the gun is only like a month old. UGH...
