FX Wildcat

My Wildcat with Hawke AirMax 4 x 12 x 50 scope and 6" - 9" Vipertek Bi-pod also fitted with a Carbon Fibre Barrel support shroud, all supplied by Hermann's Sporting Guns in Mirboo North Victoria Australia. Great guys to deal with and they know their stuff !!
One word " Brilliant " everything about this thing is awesome, the trigger is velvet smooth, balance, accuracy, fit and finish, and weight,
and at 25 metres with JSB Exact Jumbo Heavy 18.13 grain pellets I'm getting around 80 tight group shots, most of the time it's pellet on pellet !! Love it....

Hi Iceman,
I am in South Australia. That looks like a great set up! I notice that your wildcat appears to have the barrel shroud on it. The wildcats sold in SA don't have a shroud (as it is illegal in SA to moderate the sound of air guns here) and my I un-shrouded hw100 barks like a 22 rimfire. Is customs letting Hermann's import them with shroud or is there no moderating effect with your shroud?

Thanks Chris

Thanks for that info mats400. That CF shroud does make the wildcat look very cool! I had hoped that customs had let the wildcat in with the moderating shroud on but no joy. Iceman enjoy your awesome wildcat!

Just out of interest how loud is the wildcat un-shrouded? As I said above my hw100 is very loud (about the same as a 22 rimfire) and I know that Harry (Yarrah) who is also from Australia has previously noted that some of his more powerful PCP's are decidedly not neighbour friendly.

Hi Guys, I have a Walther Rotex RM8 .117 as well and it has a pretty loud crack about it, My Wildcat is so much quieter than the RM8. I know the carbon fibre barrel support is not supposed to make things quieter but the sound from the wildcat is about half of what the Walther is, Possibly just a quieter gun by nature ? actually the sound of the pellet hitting the steel behind the target is louder than the actual firing of the gun !! Go figure........

Hey Chris, it's a Carbon Fibre barrel support I had fitted by Hermanns when I bought the gun, I don't know if it changes the sound or not because I never heard it without it on.
all I can say is that this Wildcat is a lot quieter than my Walther RM8 Rotex, It is a .177 and loud as hell.
It's not supposed to muffle it at all for legal reasons..
