FX - What will they think up next?

While I'm not an FX fanboy. I have long respected mr axelson's innovative ways. What will he come up with next? If I had to guess , it would be one of the following;

A semi auto version of an existing model that maintains solid power throughout the mag with minimal delay between shots.

A more true big bore / 35 cal gun with a 25% power increased output over the current 35 cal impact , so what if the shot count is halved. not sure frederick can swing that , He is a small bore genius , but larger bore requires probable structural realignments - also would need a sufficient market for it.

An unchoked barrel so both pellets and slugs shoot well out of the box?

A more robust chassis system to brace the barrel / shroud to help prevent POI shift if bumped.

Can you think of any other possible ideas?

THUNPER

You hit the nail on the head,,,I have been watching FX from the start up.....QUALITY CRONTROL ,,, PLEASE and make one with a lot less Orings,,,,, WHY SO MANY O RINGS

Suck it up and talk to the Veteran, Prophet, And Uragan staff ,,, Everybody get to gather under one roof and make one gun just for KICKS,,,

I love shooting,,,, NOT WORKING ON THEM,,,,, NO FX love here......

They really need to work on how the barrel is attached which could fix a lot of their harmonic issues especially if they go full carbon barrel route. I suspect they will go for the full carbon barrel route one day since their "metal straws" lend well to be made into full carbon barrels, cost would be the only part they need to figure out. Aside from the barrels I think the next crown and dreamline all will get dual reg soon.

Tried semi-auto and it was fun but over it quick, still prefer standard "bolt/lever action" just like I wouldn't spend much on a semi auto AR but a ton of money on a bolt action. Just me.

As far as QC goes after 6 FX guns in 1.5 years I haven't seen any of the QC problems people are talking about. I messed up far more parts/orings than FX has ever send me in replacement parts which was just a set of orings and a gauge.......for 6 guns. Guess they are pretty terrible. LOL

If they hold back on new things, at least for a while for people to get the by now old things they ordered 6 months ago, that would be nice.

It is bad enough having made a major investment and 6 months later it is outdone, ordering a new gun ( when ordering ) and it is obsolete before you get it, that would be very very bad.

Not saying stop inventing, just sit on it for a little while please.

I am personally still waiting for that damn inline crono,,,,, and i have seen squat about it, and by FX them self it should have been out for a month now, thats pretty frustrating when all you get is silence, i totally get something came up, so just say that and i would feel a lot better, and i dont think that is asking too much.

Not being an FX fan, I could be a real smart alec here, but I'll show restraint. I wish they would do a slight redesign of the Boss/Royale platform, but keeping the original solid ST barrel. The standard trigger would be a new design using a conventional multi-lever sear release and dropping the trigger wheel design. It could then be made adjustable for both weight and sear engagement. The bonded-on moderator would be replaced with a conventional screw-on design. All the gimmicks and gadgetry could be maintained in the rest of the line, but this one be a simple, rock solid shooter's rifle.

How about a rifle with a built-in compressor.

I NEVER EVER experience all the problems I read about FX guns on the forum. That's because my only two rifles are the simplest they ever made with the best pellet barrels they ever produced. The Royale 500 & the Boss suit me in every area of fit, feel, finish, handling & accuracy. I'm sorry for the guys who will never know what an incredible piece of equipment these classic rifles are! While you're busy tinkering, posting problems, replacing the myriad of o-rings, I'm out shooting & smiling! Some people are gluttons for punishment but I'm a glutton for satisfaction! Couldn't care less what the next "latest & greatest" from FX is. But that's just me.

From an outside perspective I see lots of questions regarding tuning and how to aquire the same claimed performance of said product, especially using a power up slug kit. Questions on what barrel works for what gun and at what speed. I rarely see two of the same answers, this sends the message of nobody really knows. Not everyone wants to tinker with a new $2000+ gun, standardized troubleshooting procedure's could be helpful. I've watched every new product come out that's immediately followed by, " It's not doing what I want" or I had to send it back and wait for a repair or replacement. Sounds awful and certainly nowhere near worth it for me. I did enjoy the Impact as it was ergonomically amazing and shot fantastic when it worked but the QC was much to be desired, most everything broke and fell apart. I'm wondering when they will decide to start machining the majority of parts in Hong Kong, this would help get them to the consumer much faster such as the Avenger.
